iTunes Store "Purchased" area is blank.

When I click "Purchased" in the iTunes store, a blank page appears. None of the purchases I made on my Apple TV are available for download to iTunes on my MacBook Pro. Is anyone else having this issue or know of a solution?

Thank you.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

Same issue here since updating to Mavericks. Apple support was unable to offer a solution other than sign out/sign in, update/restart, which I'd already done. It appears others are having the issue as well. Will be watching in hopes for a solution so that I will have access to my purchases once again...

I was on the phone with an Apple Senior Specialist for almost two hours this past Friday regarding this issue. He walked me through all the normal steps (clearing the cache, deleting various iTunes/Mac App Store folders, etc.). At one point, we even uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes. Nothing cleared up the problem. He did reference an upcoming patch that should hopefully address the issue.

In the meantime, I was able to find a workaround: Instead of going directly to Purchased from the main iTunes Store page or the Music page, try this:

  1. From the main iTunes Store page, click on TV Shows
  2. Click on Purchased under TV Shows Quick Links
  3. Make sure that the All button is selected at the top right
  4. Now click on Music
  5. To see what purchased music is not in your library, click on the Not in My Library button at the top right

I have gotten fairly consistent results using the above steps. It's a bit of a pain, but at least you get to see what may be missing from your library.

the plot (for me) thickens.

as i stated the other day, miraculously my purchased page was no longer blank.

HOWEVER, when i clicked on an artist, and tried to open an album (to re-download a song, via icloud?), because many songs on my ipod are incomplete at the end ("chipped" according to apple genius at bar)... the album wouldn't open!!!!

instead, i got a default stating "this album isn't for purchase in the united states". happened with other albums as well. clearly i purchased them on itunes previously in the U.S.

and these aren't obscure albums/groups.

the one album i tried to open was: grateful dead go to nassau (nassau colliseum).

bad to worse: 11/18/13

so today i took a chance and went to the apple store for an appointment witht the genius at the bar.

not only could he not fix the problem... he ended up DELETING/LOSING MY ENTIRE ITUNES PLAYLISTS' i had created.

even after showing him this entire discussion profile, after he realized he wasn't able to fix the blank purchased page, and my explanation that i am no genius/tech wizard (and pleading with him not to do ANYTHING that would cause me to lose my itunes music (over 3,000 tunes)-- i was still left in worse shape than i arrived.

don't get me wrong, i will say it again. i am an apple fan and apple genius bar fan, and have been for YEARS. but to call today a disappointment is an understatement. I find that 8 out of 10 times, the geniuses are superb (just don't ask me about the trainee who deleted almost my ENTIRE iphot library).

what i can tell try to tell you from the entire encounter seemed to be something like this. genius said: "your purchases are there, the purchase page is just not seeing them, and i can't find a solution. i need to bump it up to the itunes engineers".

(p.s. love the geniuses, but not even a "sorry" or regret for LOSING my entire itunes playlists (100+ playlists).

my music appears to be in tunes, but i'm finding it hard to believe that with all the manipulating of files, that i haven't lost some music as well. it looked as those computer brain surger was being performed right before my very eyes. things were being copied, movied to desk top, deleted, replaced in apps, redownload of itunes... only to make matters worse. oh well, you never know if something CAN be fixed, unless you try. hazards of software?

i guess i give up for now.

here's to starting playlists from scratch, again.

all the best to everyone (and thank you apple genius anyway, for trying),

my music & photos are (supposedly) backed up on not only a time capsule, but also an external harddrive. my second external harddrive has had some recent problems (othewise would have 3 back ups).

either way, i've noticed that whenever it comes to an itunes problem, and i bring my macbook to the apple store for the apple geniuses to restore from my external harddrive backup, and with quite some time and difficulty, they can usually get a majority of my music back, but at least they first warn me... "you may lose your playlists." it's NEVER been an issue without a problem. something ALWAYS goes wrongs (eg. songs are there, but "x"'s are next to all of them, then they have to try and figure that out. another hour, if i'm lucky.

no warning from the genius this time, but i was just happy it wasn't worse. i was almost sure he was going to lose EVERYTHING.

i had other issues while i was there with him, but trust me, you don't want to know.

kudos to anyone who actually has a complete itunes store purchase page and all their music.

lord knows if i'll ever see something functioning like that again.

and yet the genius tells me... "your music is in the purchased store (because i can even see it on your iphone). it's just not "?there on your computer. it's a not an issue with your personal computer. it's something that needs to be fixed by the itunes store engineers (in the next upgrade)." so, he says,

my faith is low at this point.

apple---- please help.

thanks to again to all,

anthony

Clicking on the Purchased quick link from TV Shows worked for me. At least I can choose another type from that page (it still doesn't work from the main page).

Someone mentioned that PDFs might be causing the problem, but I'm on Mac OS X 10.9 (that Mav... OS) and PDF/Books have been moved to iBooks. When I went through my iTunes library there was one item in Books (an epub document), I quit iTunes, removed the epub document (Books is now empty in the Library), relaunched iTunes and still get the blank Purchases page when clicking the Quick Link in the main iTunes store area (but I still get Purchases when clicking on the Quick Link in TV Shows).

With DIsney pulling content, I wanted to just make sure that I have everything downloaded to my computer.

11/23/13-

latest crazy quirk.

so my purchased page is still blank.

as i had said recently, i went to the apple store to see if a genius at the bar could assist me with the blank purchase page. the final answer - no, he could not. but, he was able to lose/delete my ENTIRE playlists (thank you very much)

today i purchased some new tunes from itunes. the purchased page is still blank.

but i noticed that itunes match and perhaps genius were doing some of their upgrading on there own.

while i listening to a new album i just purchased, all of a sudden the song cuts off at the end. i'm thinking to myself, "oh no, now itunes can't even download songs in their entirety."

i open up my library, and surprise... my entire old playlist is BACK. nice surprise! hope it lasts.

i guess that had something to do with letting either itunes match or genius do whatever it had to do?

i also noticed that while my purchased page is still blank in my itunes store, in my itunes library, there is a ?smart playlist icon??? looks like a rotary device? i never personally created it, but when i click on it, i presume it contains just about everything i've ever purchased from the itunes store or downloaded from cds directly into itunes (ie. all of my music).

it also contains a huge number of funky codes/symbols at the very end. i don't want them there, but i won't delete them for fear that they have something to do with the working function of itunes. does anyone know what all this "other stuff" is? stuff like "BDX14O5". what is all that stuff.

anyone else out there like me still have a blank purchased page in their itunes store? as i said, the genius at apple store read some of the other solutions listed by others in this discussion, but still couldn't get my purchases.

thanks,

anthony

the latest- yet more of the same.

i get an email stating that my itunes match has been automatically renewed and is supposed to have "all of my itunes music in icloud". i have over 3,000 songs. match says i have about 1,300. so much for that.

opened itunes and itunes match. don't ask me why, but for the second time now, i get the cover page that says "add this computer". i had alread done that the other day. as a matter of fact, if i'm correct, my itunes match had been on for years and always randomly updated itself.

needless to say, after i sign in again, and match supposedly does what it has to do, my itunes stops responding ("itunes not responding/spinning red circle"). have to force quit. try to open again, looking for library.

suddenly itunes match is trying to match again.

after match completes, i go to itune store to see what the latest is with the blank "purchased page". surprise, the page is no longer blank.

but, as when the last time this happened, i check one of the items which I KNOW is available in the U.S., and yet again, it says the item i have purchased "is not available in the U.S."

i honestly believe that since maverick and itunes upgrade, my itunes will NEVER work properly again, and i will no longer be able to sync my iphone 5, without it causing itunes to crash, or some other problem.

i am at a total loss. i'm not sure what else to do. the geniuses at the bar at store couldn't figure it out and were not able to help me. people at itunes seem to be ignorning my problem, because i guess MOST other people aren't having the problem.

disappointed to say the least. can't tell how important my music is to me.

why can't the engineers do something to fix this and help us?

i honestly give up. i believe i am finally just screwed.
