No audio when importing video from Aperture to FCP

I'm currently working on a video project where all my videos are in Aperture. In FCP, whether I use the media browser or import videos directly into an event, there is no audio with them. There is no waveform. If I preview a video in the media browser, the preview plays with sound, but when I drag a video onto the timeline it behaves as if there is no audio associated with the clip. This is the case for all of my videos in Aperture, including ones shot with my iPhone. My current workaround is to export the videos from Aperture onto the desktop and then import them into Final Cut. It's working, but it's a pain and I shouldn't have to do this. Audio files that I import using the media browser are working just fine.

Has anyone delt with this before or have any ideas to try?

Normally AAC sound is converted when the file is optimized. When you import into FCP directly are you optimizing the file? Does it still work in FCP in an optimized file in direct import? I've never seen video like this though I've heard of it. It's 2.5K, which is not a format FCP normally works with. You will not find it in the project properties as an option. Would it be possible to post a short clip onto the web somewhere? Maybe using WeTransfer or some such service. Thanks.
