could not load iCloud preference pane and could not load internet accounts preference pane

after a recent not so succesful time machine restore, and after turning internal hard drive and ssd on my macbook pro late 2008 into a fusion drive, I get these error messages in the system preference : could not load iCloud preference pane and could not load internet accounts preference pane. I noted that Mail, Calendar, notes etc all sync to my various device, but on my mac, I can't access the accounts feature. Can anyone help me resolve this issue ? I searched all over the net with no success...

I have since reinstalled the 2 pref panes via Pacifist. But the problem persist.

I encountered this problem on El Capitan and found this thread via a search. I checked the "Date Modified" field for ~/Library/Preferences/Containers/com.apple.internetaccounts, and found that it hasn't been modified in several months. My El Capitan doesn't have a ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.internetaccounts.plist. That left only one thing to do "1. Close the preferences panel and any open applications." I was pleasantly surprised that after quitting all apps, except Safari and including "System Preferences", I was then able to run "System Preferences" and access the internet accounts preference pane.

I had this problem too and i did this (below) and it works 🙂

Go to Finder --> iCloud Drive --> delete any folder in there

I'm not sure if anyone have the same folder or not but my one was a 'text edit' folder.
