Anyone having trouble sending group emails in Maverick?

Since installing Maverick the Apple email program is not recognizing information from Contacts when I try to send a group email. Can anyone help?

MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2009), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

I am not sure that this will help anyone here.

I am still using OS 10.8. The problem of sending group emails by placing the group's name in the To box has been a long one. What I do is put the name of the group in the To box then I right-click and select "Expand Group." This places all the names of the people in the group in that box. Then, you can send your email without a problem.

What I often also do is send the email to myself (my name only in the To box) and put the group name in the Bcc box. That works without having to expand the group name.

It is probably good practice to Bcc to a group rather than put its name in the To box, thus protecting the names of the people in your group. Doing this also reduces the annoyance on the recipients part of receiving emails with many many names in it. If I plan to forward such an email that has many names and email addresses in it, I usually delete all the names in To section of the text, again to protect the identity of people in the group.

Just my thoughts.

I have 10.8 on my old Mac. To mail to a group, I open my Contacts (in dock), click on the group and all the names automatically go to the "To" box. If I want it to go via Bcc I highlight all the names and drag to Bcc.

My new computer has 10.9.2. I go to the windows drop down menu @ the top bar, select one name in the group/ command A to select all, then click Bcc in the windows menu- the addresses all fill in automatically in the email.

Adding to my previous post- To send to group members (Mavericks)- alternate method:

From contacts (dock) right click on the group or control click on group. From the drop down menu choose "send email to 'name of group.'" The problem with this method is it opens a new email. I like the first method better (using the windows drop down in the top bar instead of the Contact folder) for Mavericks because it allows you to write your email first.

A lot of the work arounds seem to be unduly complicated. If you want to sent mail to a group without the recipients getting all the groups addresses; simply put the group in the BCC field and ignore the TO field.

Normally, of course, leaving the check box in preferences should look after this but that went wrong (I think) with the last upgrade to mail.

I seem to be having the opposite problem from the other users in this thread. I'm on an iMac running 10.9.4. What I'm trying should be ridiculously easy. I've created a group in Contacts, but when I type the name of the group in the address panel, I get the list of members' emails appearing twice. What am I doing wrong? I did try to re-open Mail but it didn't help.
