Loose iphone 5s glass on screen

I have had my iphone 5s a couple of weeks. Today I noticed a clicking sound on the right hand side of the glass on the front. The glass is loose and moves in and out upon applying normal pressure, which is really annoying. I have made an appointment for a few days time to get a new phone, what the guy in the Apple store on Covent Garden today referred to as a swap out. He admitted this is a well known issue now.

It's really disappointing that Apple quality has gone so far downhill. Like how is this passing quality control at Foxconn.

I think we are all being foxed and conned to tell you the truth.....

Old thread but maybe increasingly important the older millions of i5S gets. It took 10 months for the screen lamination problem to become really visible in my first i5S.
Excellent understanding of advanced mathematics actually, and the simple probability calculation I did is not only accurate, but also so easily understood that my 7 year old son understand it. If you don't understand it you can compare it with rolling a dice twice. The probability of rolling 6 + 6 is (1/6) x (1/6) = 1/36 = 2.78%.
The problem seeking an answer could be just as simple as that if many people complain here about the "Chinese slave labor" (or more likely Apple's construction and QC) that caused the lamination problem, Apple might acknowledge the problem and issue an extended warranty for it. Or maybe you own millions of Apple shares and worry about the value of your portfolio?

The fact that Apple just exchanged my first 5S without asking any questions and that my 2 month old exchange 5S has the same problem in exactly the same corner now only leads to one conclusion - this is a common 5S model problem.

Because a test sample of 2 units out of millions is a valid sampling to determine the rate of occurrence in the whole.

Let's try this: I manage 80+ iPhone 5S units. Some (4 or 5 IIRC) have been exchanged/replaced for other reasons, but none have had the issue you describe.

So, let's call it an even 90 on my end. None with that issue.

Now let's add your two.

That's a 2.2% occurrence rate. Still not 'common' or 'prevalent'.

Replying to the OP, even though I have the same problem and this isn't really directed at him/her.

You know, sometimes people need to come to a forum and:

1. confirm that others are experiencing the same thing they are (op did this).

2. Do some non-personal venting (same).

In response, I'm always struck by the personal attacks that come in return--especially on this site. Yeah, a sample of a few on this forum may say basically nothing about quality control... so what? Personal attacks are lame. I can't believe I have to say this to people in 2015.

And where was there a personal attack? Please show exactly where that occurred in this thread.

It's a simple probability calculation. My two units are not just two units out of millions - they are two units in row to the same customer and I only had two i5S so far. If I had bought thousands the probability had been different. Under the assumption that the problem is rare and only affects one unit in ten thousand, the probability for that is one in one hundred million.
