Pages 5.0, hyperlinks, PDF file, links don't work

I upgraded to pages 5.0. My documents have many hyperlinks. When I convert them to PDF files the hyperlinks don't work in the pdf files. In pages: file > export > pdf > best image quality then to desktop. The links work on page 1 of the pdf file but not on the remainder of the pages. With the previous version of pages all the hyperlinks worked in the pdf files I created. Something I need to be doing with the new pages 5.0? Help. The links are a key component of my documents.

Thanks in advance.

Yep its a bug shadowlake. All you can do is submit feedback. Doesn't work via PDF button on the Print dialog either.

Found a fix!

1. In the new version of Pages, export your document to a Word doc. Save.

2. Right-click on that Word doc in the Finder, Choose Open With > Pages (4.1) [Or just open Pages 4.1 yourself, then use File > Open and choose that new Word doc]

3. The old version of Pages opens your doc. Choose File > Export... Choose PDF. File will save where you choose, links active and working just like old times.

This is my first discussions post and hope it's useful!

Why would you want to export to Word .doc?

Just use Pages '09 4.3 in the first place and avoid the problem.

Peter, I tried your suggestion of going back to pages 4.3: Applications > iWork09 > Pages 4.3 and the logo appears on the Dock. When I open it and try to open a pages document a box comes up saying 'You need a newer version of pages to open this document'. I already have pages 5.0 and that is the problem, at least with hyperlinks not working on PDF conversions. I don't see how to go back to using Pages '09 4.3. I must be missing something.

Thanks again.

The hyperlinks work in the first page of the document. So if you set up several documents, each having only one page of your bigger document, the hyperlinks are conserved during the export to a PDF. Afterwards you merge all these individual PDF's. Obviously this only makes sense if you have only a few pages, otherwise it is a lot of work. Does this make sense to you, Peter?
