mac osx 10.9 Mavericks wifi issue

Ok so Wifi is really starting to annoy now....

I have a 2013 Mac Air (about 1 month old). I upgraded to mavericks and now EVERYTIME the machine goes to sleep, i close the lid, whatever the wifi connection is shut down and on logging in again, the wifi doesn't connect. I have to manually turn off wifi and then turn on again before selecting my network (and usually needs 2 attempts).

This is unacceptable.

Does anybody else suffer from this issue? any ideas on how to fix it (other than reverting back to MLion - if that's even possible)

Thanks in advance for any responses

Kind Regards

Supersleb

Same issue here. I have macbook pro (retina display) Mid 2012. Wifi was connecting seamlessly in Mountain Lion and since I upgraded to OX X Mavericks, its it unable to sense wifi during startup or wakeup. I have to go through the process of disabling and re-enabling the wifi and then select the SSID from the drop down. Very frustating... I have tried resetting SMC and PRAM but still no luck. What gives?

My issue is gone now... consistently over about the last week. The only thing I did was reset the SMC. I still use bluetooth daily to connect to bluetooth speakers.

I have noticed that iStat Menus still reports my IP address as being from the wrong network (not updating as I move) but at least now when I check the actual network system settings, both wired and wifi IP addresses seem to change as they should as I move between my home and work networks.

Just my observations on this so far... your mileage may (and probably will) vary.

We seems to be hundreds customers all arround the world having problems with wifi on Mavericks and apple is actually ignoring us. We try to make this problem visible to apple with the tag #macwifiloss on facebook and twitter.

I bougt a brand new 15.4" macbook pro one week ago and I never succedeed in being connected more than 20 consecutive seconds. So I bought a thunderbolt to ethertnet adapter, and I have exaaaactly the same problem.

I tried all the fixes I saw on different forums and it changes nothing.

I have a macpro and my old mbp 17" mid 2009 connected on my local network. The weird thing is that when I connect my late 2013 mbpr he is recognized even if my wifi or ethernet connection doesn't work on worldwide web : I can't use safari that says I'm not connected but I can share files.
I tried to share folders of more than 100go, and it works with my top wifi rates during hours, but still impossible to go to internet.

So for those who still have wifi problems like don't forget to use the tag #macwifiloss

Turning Bluetooth off is the only way for me to get rid of this annoying "loosing wifi after wake up from sleep" problem.

I'm sure Apple screwed up something with the new Mavericks OS.

Sometimes the external display stops working after waking up from sleep. WTH?!

This is going to happen all the time when Apple releases a new version of OS X? I'm really sick of it. I've just bought a new haswell rMBP 15", I spent a lot of money and I've got a beautiful laptop with a lot of software bugs. Great!
