mac osx 10.9 Mavericks wifi issue

Ok so Wifi is really starting to annoy now....

I have a 2013 Mac Air (about 1 month old). I upgraded to mavericks and now EVERYTIME the machine goes to sleep, i close the lid, whatever the wifi connection is shut down and on logging in again, the wifi doesn't connect. I have to manually turn off wifi and then turn on again before selecting my network (and usually needs 2 attempts).

This is unacceptable.

Does anybody else suffer from this issue? any ideas on how to fix it (other than reverting back to MLion - if that's even possible)

Thanks in advance for any responses

Kind Regards

I think it's a bit disappointing and tota let down from Apple if they are not trying to find a fix to this widespread wifi-not-connecting-after-sleep issue.

I've tried all suggestions on this thread as well as existing others (this one being probably the longest one) but to not avail.

Everytime, I'll have to delete the password first in the Keychain and then delete all the .plist in Library then reboot and try to reconnect after a couple of attempts.

Tim Cook > Steve wouldn't have been happy with this issue if he had a MacBook Pro at home. Please ask your engineer and technical team to fix ASAP.

Thanks

Nothing? No solution, no work-around, nothing? This is a sad state of affairs for Apple. This release and the previous release of OS X have been huge failures for me. What's the point of beta testing if you can't work out the bugs before your final release? Why can't you respond to a critical mass of customers suffering from a widespread critical system error in a timely fashion? My incentive to buy another Mac just dropped exponentially.

Yes me to, but I need to use bluetooth for my magic mouse, because I usally use my rMBP in closed clamshell mode with two external display. Beside that it's not a proper way if something's not working we disable it. Apple needs to fix this as soon as possible. I can't downgrade my OS to ML because there are some Apps which is not down comaptible (like iPhoto). :-/

I am facing this issue almost for two months without any solution. I tried all the solutions posted in this and other half a dozen related discussions but could not get a solution. Only option left for me to go back to montain loin but understand that it is not so straight forward. I can't belive the apathy from Apple support in addressing this critical issue which is making our work life miserable.

I deleted all the remembered networks in settings, renewed the DHCP lease, reconnected to my wifi, turned off Keychain syncing (in iCloud settings) and lastly restarted my new MacBook Air (Mavericks) and wifi has been pretty solid since then (7 days ago). But just today I noticed the wifi "dozes off" from time to time for a few seconds and then snaps back to life. I have not had to "turn wifi off and on" for awhile now, but it's no where near as stable as pre-Mavericks. No bluetooth devices are connected so I can't comment on that.

People who are saying turning off bluetooth, or reseting SMC works, It does NOT work for me. I believe the problem will also come back for you guys as well. My case for the wifi problem is that, it sometimes doesn't connet after waking up, but it sometimes works fine. It's hit and miss. And it's the same, nothing changed, after turning off bluetooth and reseting SMC. I haven't tried turning off keychain, because I need this feature for sure. I hope Apple addresses this issue as soon as possible. It's annoying as HE**.
