Why doesn't the ipad have a calculator?
The iPhone came with a really nice Rams inspired calculator by default. Why isn't there one on the ipad by default?

Here is my workaround:
I opened Safari and typed "google calculator". I then saved the calculator as a desktop icon on my ipad and named it " google calculator". You can save any web page as an icon using g Safari. I now have free access to a great calculator by clicking an icon just as I would if I had an app but without ads. Note: you need to have internet access for this to work. I use the calculator in my iPhone when I do not have internet access.
Another option is an offline HTML app, like - http://www.ridgepost.com/calc - add a bookmark to you home screen and it will look and work like a regular app, even without any store purchases.

The most obvious answer is that Apple forgot to add one (like the weather app) and like most American Companies is too proud and ashamed to admit it. So they will never add it because that would make them look foolish.
ipad has a word processor, spreadsheet and presentation app for free to download from Apple themselves, yet no calculator...
With the launch of the iPad pro, and the collaboration with Microsoft to develop office apps it appears that they are pushing the iPad to be a alternative to using laptops for business purposes, yet still fail to include the calculator.
Pride... A curious sin.
And you know this because...or are you just bumping your gums?
Because I'm not American
So you don't know what you are talking about. Thanks for confirming that.
So from all the possible reasons that the calculator failed to reach the iPad, you're saying that forgetting to add it is not an option?
American by any chance?
Given when the iPad was released and who was in charge, no.
And yes.

Many things are possible. Some things are so unlikely that they may as well be impossible. This would be one of those things.
I Have no need for Twitter, Facebook, Gamecenter, Find my Friends, etc. They lurk on my device without the ability to trash them. I cannot delete the News App, when 9 times out of ten it doesn't even open. But I dont have the option of a basic calculator or stocks app? I don't see the logic behind the force fed diet of very poorly written applications we a forced to keep on our hardware when basic things aren't pre installed with that Apple Bloatware. and yes I have a free calculator on my iPad, but the fact there is one for iPhone and not for iPad is bizarre. It is not like they have to create it from scratch.

Certainly you have the option. Download ones that meet your needs from the App Store. Twitter and Facebook apps were not included on an iOS device under any version I've ever used.
Submit any feedback you might have about what you would like to see from Apple here:
Twitter and Facebook are not part of iOS and are easily deleted. Stop whining and download a free calculator app. I do agree that it would be nice if all of the "mandatory" apps could be deleted by those who have no use for them. I hide them all in a tab that I call "Apple Junk" as the only thing on the last screen of icons.
i bought an $800 ipad pro and no calculator or weather app , what friggin joke

You spent $800 on something without researching if it had the features you needed? Yes, there is definitely a joke here.
YYou cannot delete Facebook or Twitter from iOS. I could and did download a calculator, not anything to do with the fact why Apple cannot port over the app to the iPad. That was the question, and it is a mystery to me why a calculator isn't part of the iPad iOS system. Software is surely NOT Apple' forte these days.
