Why doesn't the ipad have a calculator?
The iPhone came with a really nice Rams inspired calculator by default. Why isn't there one on the ipad by default?

You spent $800 on something without researching if it had the features you needed? Yes, there is definitely a joke here.
yes meg st clair, i agree jokes on me, apple got me. lesson learned, buy android next time.
Based on your posting history, this was not your first iPad. So, I'm not sure why you expected the iPad Pro to have a calculator and a weather app when your previous iPad didn't. Your comment was rather disingenuous.
There are plenty of free calculators and weather apps, in the iOS App Store that will cost you nothing, so why the whining and grumbling?
If you had an iPad before, then you should know that iPads never came with a weather or calculator app.
Did I mention that there are free calculator and weather apps on the iOS App Store?
Yes, I did.
I paid a LOT more than you for my iPad Pro and it didi not come with calc or weather app, either.
Unlike you, I managed to find free ones in the iOS App Store.
No. grumbling, moaning or whining.
No problemo.
Busted!

YYou cannot delete Facebook or Twitter from iOS. I could and did download a calculator, not anything to do with the fact why Apple cannot port over the app to the iPad. That was the question, and it is a mystery to me why a calculator isn't part of the iPad iOS system. Software is surely NOT Apple' forte these days.
agree dude

you and meg fail to see the problem. see topperdog's response
I've read all the responses and I still fail to see the problem.
Problem?...What problem?...There's a problem?...
😝
You fail to acknowledge the FREE solutions available to you.
Yes, there is no iOS native weather or calc app.
Is this truly a bug up your ....?
Is this fact truly something to moan, grumble an be P.Oed about in the grand scheme of things?
Who gives a flyin" carp about these missing apps when there are ones you can install for FREE that cost you NOTHING!
I use a nice calculator app and weather app this is very nice.
Yes, these free ones have smal ads on them, but they still look very good and work well on my large iPad Pro.
Is this really something to get your pants in a bunch about?
Raise your pulse/heart rate and blood pressure about?
I don't.
I am outta this thread!
Question was "why is there no calculator on the iPad". i have seen no discussion resembling an answer to why Apple cannot include the calculator in the iOS for iPad. It would be nice to use split screen with it which does not work on any of the calculators I have tried. And I must say I don't much like dealing with those small ads that are found on the free versions. They are annoying and are eye candy for kids who don't know what they are.
CAn can anyone suggest what is so complicated code wise in the iPhone calculator that would not allow it to be included with the iPad? I have put feedback into Apple about this, and everyone knows how that goes. It goes to the same place where all the bug reports about iTunes go.
It probably isn't that complicated for them. They just chose not to do so. You've sent your feedback now all you can do is wait. Originally there was no Clock app either so who knows, maybe next time?
What bugs have you submitted for iTunes that have not been fixed?
Album artwork glitches depending on what type of audio is being used in the program. iTunes does not deal well with .wav files at all. Glitchy crossed playback on certain audio formats. Updating peripherals do not show up in tool bar and resync during software update process causing user to force unplug peripheral without ejecting. Audio in recent updates on iTunes has dropouts and micro-skips in playback where the exact same audio file played on another audio interface program such as Digital Performer 9 plays back fine. Continual fight with iTunes on duplicating songs and videos that are in program but are redownloaded anyway forming hundreds of duplicate files in iTunes anyway. The entire iOS software update process is full of glitches and bugs evident in the past 3-4 updates that have bricked iPhones And iPads. "Get Info" menu selection has several profound software bugs when dealing with entering information for your file when NOT dealing with music files. Album artwork displayed on iPhone and iPad can get corrupted and display wrong artwork when metadata associated with the file is correct. Audio is delayed when playing back audio on apple TV through HDMI compared to optical SPDIF when using AirPlay in iTunes. Connection to AirPlay devices registers errors from iTunes when accessing same devices works from iPhone or iPad. I do not use Apple Music, but from what I have heard that portion of iTunes is s mess. Apple's hiding of advanced user options by having to option click things is not a bug, but a feature I have been giving feedback about for some time. During the last major update to iOS, the music app was changed to only accept certain layout dimensions for artwork on TV shows and movies and audio with no warning to users. Had to spend many hours adjusting sizes of album artwork in itunes that previously worked fine across the ecosystem. Album artwork limitations in resolution selected can lead to no album artwork displayed on Apple TV or iPad or iPhone. Again no information as to the rules.
THis his is not the only feedback left, but some of the more glaring issues with what I use iTunes for, simple music playback with no iTunes Match or Apple Music turned on at all.

just relax and breath
native iOS calculator and weather apps do exist, Apple just chooses to block iPad from accessing them. I do use free apps and I'd immediately delete them in favor of the native apps which are accessible on iPhone.
get your facts straight!
Beyond suggesting that there are free apps to address these needs, there is nothing anyone here can do to help you. We are not Apple. We're users like you.
Telling us you intend to switch to Android over such a tiny issue, which you already knew about before you bought the iPad Pro, falls into the category of trolling the forum.
Nobody cares.
