Hi Everyone,

Thanks to a youtube video I was able to recussitate my 2009 MacBook Pro which just decided to not turn on after a week of not being plugged in.

1. unplug the macbook

2. hold the power button in for 10 seconds - and on the 10th second - plug the power cable into the macbook

3. keep holding the power button down a few seconds

4. release and press power once more

** it's supposed to start then but mine needed several such cycles

The first time it came up with the white screen and then died,

Then I seriously prayed, and repeated twice more.

It worked - my Macbook booted up perfectly.

Hope this helps someone.

PS: Don't bother with Apple support for a 2009 MacBook - they are considered Vintage and Apple does not even look at them. You need to contact the Apple Consultants in your area.

Good luck,

Hi guys, i read some of the responses to this problem and i just wanted to share mine. I had the same problem with my mac pro, i was using it and it just shut down and i wasn't able to start it up. I was in panic aha and i immediately googled what to do. I tried several technics without any success. So i basically gave up and let my computer rest for a few days, cause i gotta say that i neglected it a little bit, by letting it open for days without closing it completely, which is not really a good idea. so it's been maybe a week and i just went to try to start it up and it opened normally. So long story short; if none of the tricks you tried worked, try just to let it rest for a few days.
