Window display issues in Mavericks after wake from sleep

I recently upgraded a late 2012 Mac Mini 2.3 i7 to Mavericks. I have no complains about the speed of the OS so far, but I am experiencing a strange display issue upon wake from sleep. If I keep any applications running, and the system goes into sleep mode or power sleep, all of the app windows and desktop folders get compressed to the top left hand corner of the screen. The top menu bars are hidden off screen, they windows can not be resized, and the windows are spring loaded back to the top corner if you drag them away from this location.

The issue can be remedied by switching between the display settings to refresh the screen, or of course rebooting the system.

Has anyone else experienced this issue on other systems? Is this a current known bug that the Apple folks will address in an update?

FYI, I also have a 2012 Macbook Air 1.8 i5 that I have experienced this same issue.

Thanks

Still no cure ... Meanwhile, I had another experience that may provide a clue.

I was watching a video with MPlayerX, paused it, switched to the login window and put my machine to sleep.

After waking the machine and logging in again, the video window was completely gone. Instead of restarting MPlayerX I activated Mission Control and saw the window right where I had left it. Switching back I found the window stil gone.

To me this suggest the problem may be in the window manager messing up its administration, not the applications.

it happens most of the times I awake my MacMini late 2012.

I have read elsewhere a tip that proved useful to me. Instead of closing and restarting the apps with crazy windows, to change the Dock's position (left, bottom, right), seems to rearrange the windows properly.

Of course, only until it goes to sleep again... and does not work with the Dashboard that remains all messed up, which I've given up using.

I hope v. 10.0.2 fixes this very annoying bug.

I have this problem on all 3 of my Macs. I have tried both the safe reboot and Onyx suggestions, and the problem persists. I submited the following to Apple today:

I have 3 Macs, all running 10.9.1, which began to exhibit this same problem as soon as Mavericks was installed.

The problem occurs when resuming from sleep (or possibly only from hibernation). The symptom is that one or more application windows, such as from Apple Mail or Firefox, or even the Finder itself, will appear in the top left corner of the screen reduced in size to about 400w x 100h pixels, with the top bar off screen. If I try to resize the window by dragging the bottom right corner, it will only display a cursor for horizontal drag. It will not allow dragging either vertically nor diagonally.

To fix the problem, I have to restart the application, whereupon the window reverts to approximately the same size and location, but now has normal behavior.

Let's hope some one there starts paying attention!

For me the problem seemed to be invoked by Fast User Switching. The problem occurred when I switched from my "Media" user to my "Home" user. When I switched back to the "Media" user the window I was working in was at the top left and couldn't be resized or moved. After I repeated the action, switching to "Home" and then back to "Media" the window then appeared at the bottom right, but it least now it could be moved and resized.
