Iphone 4s touch screen not responding

Hi, i have a problem with my iPhone 4S: just out the blue, the screen stopped working, doesn't respond to the finger touch at all,.

i have try to turn it of, but when i have to slide to confirm the action and slide on the red symbol and since the touch screen doesn't respond, can't turn off the device.

The screen looks totally normal, just not responding, the calls and messages get to the device but i cant get access to the iPhone, so it is like a iVegetable. The iPhone 4S haven't get wet or have dropped, it was in my pocket and when i wanted to use it, the touch screen didn't respond, like I said: just out the blue, help please. Thank you for reading.

Ps.

The phone is 90 days old more or less.

Found this discussion after the screen on my iPhone 4 stopped responding. I had an additional difficulty in that the off button at the top is utterly stuck (I use assistive touch to turn it off when necessary). So the "push and hold both buttons" wouldn't work for me.

But... holding the home button still turned on Voice Control and after I spoke a command the phone decided to ring someone in my contacts.

I actually told it to "Play Playlist" but it decided to ring someone called Claire O'B****, instead so voice control needs to work harder on learning my north-east England accent!

However, once the phone started ringing I could press the red End Call button on screen and everything went back to normal.

Interesting fix Night Ed! Glad that worked! I was having the same problem, out of the blue, touch screen not working on my 4S. I was about to give up, after restarting/resetting it 4 or 5 times, and also plugging it into itunes to get it ready to back up and restore. Then I remembered that the other day my phone was acting really strangely when I was on a call, making the call sound like it had a bad connection. The person I was talking to sounded distorted and really small and far away. That happened with a few different calls, so i realized it was not a bad connection, it was the phone. But by bending the phone a bit, I was able to hear the person talking, and temporarily fix the problem. That problem went away, but then a week later I had this issue with the touch screen not working. So I thought, hmmm... what if I bend it the way I did when I was having the communication problem? And it WORKED! I couldn't believe it. Immediately my touch screen started working. I didn't bend it super hard, but with a decent amount of pressure.

I have an iphone 4s with a problem with the screen display, when used for a while there is a ghost image. What i mean by that is for instance i take a picture when i look at the screen i can see the apps as a 'ghost image' through the camera image. The apps on the main screen fade in colour too? What could this be? I have never dropped the phone or 'washed it in the washing machine' its always kept in a case fully protected

Has anyone ever had this problem?

The iPhone is on IOS 8.1.1

I really want to thank you man, I was not using my iphone anymore since I had some touch screen problems, but with your suggestion I'm using it again.

Bend Saves!! It's a real problem for Apple these TS issues, I've tried many other solutions, the only one that works is bending the phone. Apple Team, please get this suggestion and make it better, as it clearly shows a problem between the touch and internal connectors, only fixed when bending the phone. Uski, thanks again!

A family friend bought a new 4, unlocked, about 2 years ago (how weird is that? he thought he was buying a 4s, but it was one of those little scam resellers near the turnaround for the San Francisco cable cars). It worked fine (other than being a 4, not a 4s) until last week when it intermittently stopped responding to touch inputs. We did a software restore and the only program we downloaded for him was Hangouts (Google), but the intermittent touch issue is back (no response to touch). I have an Apple Genius Bar appointment to see if Apple has any insights on this, but from my quick and dirty research so far, it sounds like some 4s phones have digitizer problems which are the result of a poor connector hook-up inside the phone (not a digitizer failure itself). I'll report back if the Genius Bar is helpful, but if anybody has come across additional information on this issue please leave a post.
