restore macBook pro Maverick to factory settings

Does anybody know how to return a newly purchased MBP 15 retina with Mavericks to factory settings?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

Do you need the OS disk to do this? I am guessing the process is the same on any computer? I have a MB Air from a few years ago that I want to clean up.
