I cannot get my windows 7 computer to recognize my ipod 7th gen. I tried all suggestions on site. Any ideas?

I would recommend the steps in the article below. See the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.

Thanks, Jason, for the excellent advice.
For others with this problem, this is what finally worked for me: I carefully put a toothpick into the lightning port and fished out a grass stem of some kind (I use the nano while mowing) - nano works fine now. Check for gunk lodged in lightning port?
