THANK YOUUUUU!!!!!!
Tried all the steps and the downloaded the zip folder and still am unable to connect to tether proxy server via tether.com . The tether is running on Macbook w Mavericks. About to give up. Could it be a phone setting?
It's needed to overcome the limitations that are set by carriers, like mine only allows 2GB of total data for everything daily, but after that no tethering is allowed, but only for the iPhone. I think this is stupid, that once you use 2GB for a video or multiple iCloud updates of files, you can't work on you macbook any more.
I just keep getting an error message
sh:
export:command not fond
HELP ANYONE? What am I doing wrong?!
This link isn't valid?
I got this too, any luck getting around it?
I have organized it.
Please download from http://goo.gl/4F1DW2
Then unzip it and run the launcher. Do not change any of the files. The launcher has all of the necessary files including Tether.app.
Further in the Applictions folder, right click (ctrl click) the tether icon and select "get info". In that screen check the box that says "prevent app nap". Do the same for the launcher.
I did this and it did not work for me as I have reported on the Tether support site. A few years ago there was a similar problem and we were instructed to remove all of the old Tether files before installing the new app. Perhaps we need to do that again? And where are those files located that we need to remove? I did remove a few that I could find but I know there are more. I am using Yosemite on a late 2013 Mac Pro and have been a Tether user almost since the beginning and this stuff frustrates me totally as I need this app for my work.
And the "Tether.app" is not anywhere on the computer that I can find. Not in "APPLICATIONS" and I did a search on the HD and didn't find it at all either.I really need some help here PLEASE !!
I finally got it to work after many hours of trying different things. It is not easy and connection is difficult to acquire and when it does connect its still very slow but I do get a connection finally.
Thanks all for this helpful discussion.
I have downloaded the Tether Launcher.app folder and I put it in my Applications folder.
When I double click the Tether Launcher it opens and it launches Tether v 2.1.0.3 but it displays an error "Incorrect Driver Found. Please update Tether"
Have any of you seen this error or do you know how to resolve it?
I'm doing this on my 2011 MacBook Pro running OS X 10.10.5a
Things I learned long ago from Tether support when they actually did support the product. When installing new app make sure to remove every remaining file related to the previous version. Need to go into Library and find everything. I did that with this new Launcher and it worked. Whether that was what did it I do not know but it worked after that.
Now if the **** thing would just work at any usable speed. Its awful and if there was an alternative app I would jump to it in a second !!
These guys are robbing us and we're letting them. They turned the payment over to a 3rd party and they just collect our money.
Why don't you help us?
Now using El Capitan on Late 2013 Macbook Pro. The previous launching issues are resolved but speed of through put is so slow and unstable as to make Tether unusable.
!. Why don't you guys ever respond to questions about speed?
2. Why do you still have a FACEBOOK page and have not posted anything to it since 2012?
3.If you are not going to support the product you take money for then at least be honest enough to take it all down.
4. Why don't you keep up this site either?
Service is horribly slow and data hardly flows at all. I have tried everything I know and keep refreshing the ios connection on the phone and nothing helps.
Has anyone gotten the tether app to work since upgrading to Yosemite? I can't seem to locate support either, and I can't find any other discussions about this app and Yosemite. This thread was actually for Mavericks. Anyone have any ideas? Or does anyone have it working with Yosemite? Thank you.
I Got ist to work in Yosemite for a while. Last two days though I can no longer establish a connection to the server. Running ios9 I got the connection to the computer to work with chrome but not safari.
