Camera HDR turning off by itself
Recently noticed...
The HDR mode of my camera on my iPhone 5 (iOS 7.0.3) seems to be turning off by itself.
Anyone else experiencing it??? Or knows a work around?

I've also been experiencing this problem and it is driving me insane since I use my iphone camera every day.

HDR sporadically turns itself off, whether running in the background or re-launched. The only thing I can think of is that it could be a bug with the phone's flashlight in the control centre- i.e. HDR turns off if you use it outside of the app since HDR does not use it? Any thoughts anyone??
Apple- what is going on??? Please fix it!
Nice lines of thought! Even I was thinking the same and putting the blame on using flash in Instagram! However that seem not to be the problem as:
1. I never use the flash light of the phone, not even for notification!
2. Have tried with camera flash off for Instagram or other applications that use the devices camera.
But the HDR is still turning off!
Apple - are you listening?
i too am getting frustrated by this bug in ios7. i can't possibly find any solution to this nor the cause. APPLE please provide a fix for this.
For those of you hear pleading to Apple. They will not hear you hear. This is a user to user forum. To get Apple to hear, you need to go to the feedback page at: www.apple.com/feedback and click on the appropriate link.
@ChrisJ4203: the right doors duly knocked as advised.
However, the object of posting this thread, more than appealing to Apple, were:
1. Trying to know if mine is a sole case or others are experiencing it too...
2. Is it a software bug, or some problem with the hardware,
3. Is there a work around, or do i have to live with it, till apple decides to correct it.
4. In users opinion, is it a bug, or a feature introduced by Apple. (to me, with its behavoir, seems more of a bug).
I am looking forward for inputs from iPhone users.
I can understand your asking others. However, many post on here and then add a pleading to Apple to fix something, as you would have read from the poster that I responded to. My only reason for the comment is to inform others that Apple does not frequent the forum, and for their voice to be heard by Apple, they need to use the feedback link.
Have a nice day.
Point well taken sir!!!
And.. thanks for the link, which helped me to knock at the right doors.
However, (if you can) I would love to get your inputs on this problem that I am facing.
I do not use the HDR feature that much, as I don't really take that many pictures, so I couldn't really comment on it turning off on its own.
Just an update for the interested:
With lots of hope and my fingers crossed, I updated my phone to 7.0.4, wishing that the bug causing the turnig off of the HDR mode on the camera is duly addressed.
Only to be disappointed.
It still turns off like it used to!!
Can anyone else please confirm or reject this?
After installing iOS 7.0.4 HDR still turning off after a few minutes whether or not you just exit the app and return to it or close the app and restart.
HDR remains on if you exit the app and return very shortly after or close it completely and start it again after a very short time.
Timed event? I reported this to Apple using the link above. I thought that this would have been addressed in 7.0.4, but no.
The same problem is STILL happening to me with iOS 7.0.4 ... Sighhhh
Had reported it to apple thru the feedbak link for 7.0.3, and have done that again for 7.0.4.
Hoping that apple gives it some weightage when they pack 7.0.5.
iPhone 5s... Same bug here.. It makes it even more fun when u open the camera app and sometimes can even see it say on for a moment and then if switches off!! Come on apple, this junk is rather annoying!
It's been a long time now and no fix or word of comfort from Apple. I got an iPhone 5S that had the iOS 7.0.2 pre-installed so I've refrained from updating to 7.0.3 and 7.0.4 on that device.
My iPad is running 7.0.4 though and has this annoying HDR bug. Has anyone heard about a fix for this?
anyone had any joy with this?
still really annoying!
thanks
