Camera HDR turning off by itself

7.1 fixed the HDR issue on my iPhone 5S, but NOT on my iPad Air.

Not fixed for iPhone 5... ridiculous!!!!

In order to test if it's fixed, 1 - turn on camera app and turn on HDR, 2 - close camera app or start using other apps. 3 - some time has to pass (I usually give it 15 minutes) - 4 - turn on camera app. If HDR not on then the status has not changed.

Apple is acting as if this was how the camera has awlays worked and its not so. Originally HDR remained on after it was set.

There must be some hardware/coding issue that has caused this. As a developer, I'm thinking they changed the software when iOS 7 came out (and they did significantly change the camera software) and this is part of the result from those changes. Except they are able to get around it for the iPhone 5s which has updated camera hardware.

Can confirm this behavior still occurs under iOS 7.1 on an original iPhone 5.

Sadly, no change after updating my 4S to 7.1. The upgrade site does say, "Automatically enable HDR on iPhone 5s." So that probably means all the previous iPhones are out of luck, and I'll have to manually switch to HDR every time I take a picture. How frustrating.

iOS 7.1 with iPhone 5s - my device has a new HDR Auto option - and my choice of setting (off, on, auto) is not maintained. After a 15 minute or so interval, it reverts to Auto every time.

Very disappointing.

Yes, my iPhone 4 also reverts to Off in latest IOS. Only option in settings is to "keep normal" photo.

This is really annoying please change it back....
