ePub books not syncing between Maverick iBooks and iPad

The books on my Mac won't sync to my iPad. I can read them fine on my laptop but can't transfer them. I tried moving the files to ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.BKAgentService/Data/Documents/iBooks/Books as was suggested somewhere here but they still won't sync. I cannot buy ebooks from the iBook store because there is none in my country; how am I supposed to read them on my iPad/iPhone?

There seems to be bugs somewhere, not sure it it's iBooks, iTunes, or both. I've just gone through the books/PDFs that I have in the iBooks app on my Mac and what shows in iTunes as being available for syncing to my iPad - and though all the books/PDFs that are in iBooks show, I also have 3 additional PDFs showing that I used to have but which are no longer on my Mac.

Hey, calm down everyone.

There IS indeed a solution to this. You only have to do 2 simple steps that all your books are wirelessly updated no matter where you annotate them, on Mac with Mavericks or on iDevices running iOS7.

On Mvericks, the auto update feature is already set to be syncing. Go to the iBooks Preference > General and check the Sync Notes, bookmarks etc. This is a default setting. So there's nothing to do.

Then go to your iDevice and open up Settings > iBooks > Check the Sync Bookmarks and Sync Collections.

Then comes the magic. Everything will set up and sync automatically. Everything from notes, highlights and colections.

Voilla! 😎

Thanks worked like a charm but the only problem is that imported the new collection I had made ie only the title of the collection but none of the books. so dont know what to do

My workaround for viewing an epub file I downloaded on my iMac (and then viewed via iBooks) on my other devices (MacBook, iPad, iPhone) was to send the downloaded file to Evernote (which syncs as one would expect/hope to each device within a matter of seconds) and then from Evernote it gives you the option to open the file in iBooks on each device. This is fine for a few files but I would not like to have to do this if I had a large library of such files.
