Itunes won't sync music to my iPhone5!!

I just updated to OSX Mavericks and I have the latest update for iTunes, but when i sync my phone to my macbook pro and try to put my music on it, nothing happens. When it gets to part 4 or 5 (whichever one is the part where the music get's sync'd) it just skips over it and finishes. I have been stuck for so long, I have tried looking at support sites etc... but nothing is working. I tried downloading songs from itunes, and from the internet and nothing will sync. Advice would be greatly appreciated!! i am so frustrated, i have tried syncing over wifi and thru the cord but it doesn't make a difference. it's like this happened out of nowhere. thanks in advance!

Hi Guys,

I had the same problem as all of you did and I have tried all of the trouble shooting mentioned.

This is what helped me...

In Itunes under your Iphone I checked "Manually manage music and videos" under the "options" section in the "Summery" tab. Then clicked "sync". It warned me that my Phone library was still synced with my OLD IMAC (I have a macbook air now). It asked am I sure I want to delete the old library and sync with the Air so I said **** YEAH!!!! Worked from there and all was good.

I don't know where you can have to option to "Change" to the new library but doing it this way I managed to do it. Maybe this is the reason why it wont sync with most of the computers due to the phone being synced to a old library somewhere...

HOPE IT HELPS

Hi, ShayneM21

I hope the steps below can help you solve the problem that iPhone won't sync with iTunes:

1.) Make sure that you have the most updated version of IOS (which is 6.0.2 right now). on your iPhone, tap on "Settings," then "General," then "Software Update" to find out if you need to update.

2.) On iTunes, once your iPhone is connected (via cable) click on the "iPhone" tab, then click the "Summary" tab, then scroll down to "Options" and make sure that ONLY the first two boxes are checked (which are "Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected" and "Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi"). When I had any more or less boxes checked under "Options," my iPhone 5 wouldn't sync.

3.) Make sure that your desktop icon (or the icon in your doc, if you have a Mac) and folder icon (or Applications icon if you have a Mac) for iTunes are the same version. Delete the shortcut and drag a new one onto your desktop if you need to.

4.) Delete iTunes and all of its shortcuts on your computer. Reinstall the latest version of iTunes on your computer. Try the sync again.

I have try this and solve may sync problems, I think that will help you a lot. Or you can try iPhone Transfer to help you sync your iPhone with iTunes.

Make sure that media files in your library are accessible for playing via iTunes.

I spent hours going through forums and solutions for "sync problem" while the issue was with paths to media files. After Hard Drive reorganization the partition letter where all my media files are stored was changed from "C:" to "D:". This resulted to that all files in my library can not be located. At the sync process iTunes instead of generating an error "Files cannot be located" was just skipping sync steps 4 and 5 without feedback. (no clue = troubles). Relocation of library files solved the sync problem. See the link how to automatically relocate all library files:
