16gb in mid 2010 7.1 macbook pro

Hi guys,

I have a mid 2010 MacBook Pro 7.1 with currently 4gb of ram.

OWC says this model can be upgraded to 16gb.

However, I would like to know if it will work with 2 8gb 1600Mhz, 204 pins, cards, more specifically, these ones:

Kingston Apple Memory 8 GB SODIMM DDR3-1600

I bought the package, so if you guys know if it will work than i can return it without opening.

Thanks in advance!

hi all.

I have a macbook white unibody mid 2010.
recently I bought the RAM from ebay germany.
this is the link:

http://www.ebay.de/itm/2x-8GB-16GB-DDR3-1066-Mhz-1067-Apple-MacBook-Pro-iMac-mac -mini-PC3-8500S-SO-DIMM-/351041951314?pt=DE_Technik_Computerzubeh%C3%B6r_Arbeits speicher&hash=item51bbbb1652
(It is the same as bought "gunnar-mobimation")
The brand is CSX.
2x8gb
I had understood that I had to install osx lion or higher system in order to accept the ram. for that reason, I installed mavericks.

but...

The mac never worked. Just heard a beep that comes and goes.
and I already tried:
- Install two RAM memory (2x8gb). nothing.
- Install only one ram (1x8gb). nothing.
- Insert a memory 8gb ram with another 1gb (Original apple ram). nothing.
also I try updating the EFI to the latest version. but nothing happened.
I leave you the specs of my mac.
Greetings and thanks!

Well, if you will look at my previous posts, I would not order RAM from an unknown source as Macs are extremely finicky about their RAM - here are the notes on the supported RAM:

http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook/specs/macbook-core-2-duo-2.4-white -13-polycarbonate-unibody-mid-2010-specs.html

Going over the recommended RAM amount (which is only 4 GB), I would only order it from a source which had actually tested the RAM - and the amount - in the same model, not some ebay seller.

Return the RAM and order it from a recommended source.
