I can't delete my synced photos!

I after clicking on photos I deselected "sync photos from" and it asked me if i wanted to or remove photos from my phone and i clicked remove and voila, I have my storage back to notms now! Phew! Hope it works for others.

I've reinstall the itunes, and following the steps above but it not make any changes:( first my photo is 464, and i unselect the folder(99 photos) and i click the remove photos button, it turns to 365 photos, i was so happy but when i apply the changes, it turns back to 464 photos:( what should i do? can anyone help me?:(((

THANK YOU for the solution! Indeed it was very helpful. Apple Care Helpdesk doesn't even have an answer for me citing that there must be a better way of dealing with this issue . It has been more than 24 hours and I have yet to hear from them again.

i don't understand why did photos remain uneditable after I copied them from computer (MBA) to device. I will have to make a duplication before I can use them - taking up space.

you need to use same computer or Mac you used to sync the photos,IOS 8+ ***** and does not give you the option to delete photos from your iphone that are synced but you can only do it with Itunes from your Mac or PC.... had that same problem for months... but after some hard internet searching found the solution.. just hope it helps

thank you so much this actually helped me I went to apple store and they could not figure it out I tried so many things and the last resort was to reset my phone and didn't want to and I found this THANK YOU!!!

I can't believe Apple has made such a complicated system for getting photos on to an iDevice. My daugther wanted to copy her vacation photos from her DSLR on to her ipad so she could review them, so I synced them from a folder on the computer with itunes. But now she can't delete those photos individually or at all on her Ipad??? Why Apple, why?

If I do this with a new computer, will it delete any of the pre-existing photos on the ipad? I'm helping someone who has an ipad that's not synced to any computer but has some left over pics from an old computer that were synced to it. I'm trying to delete just the synced pictures but leave the other ones he can delete in tact. If I check in the "Sync" check box in iTunes and do this method, it won't delete all the pictures, will it? I have to be sure.

The solutions above didn't help me. I used anytrans to delete the unwanted files. First, download AnyTrans and then run it. Once that is done, connect your phone and click on the mobile looking emoji in the tab at the upper right of the program. Then click on photos and click on albums. After, right click on the album you want to delete and click delete. Then go back in your phone and check if the albums are gone. I hope it works for you since it worked for me.

i have an issue. . . i went for blasterjaxx n took videos n snaps which used almost 3.5gbs that's ok. . .but when i returned back n deleted em from phone my phone still shows 2459 images

Does this folder of photos still exist on your computer? Can you select Sync Photos From button? Are you using the same computer you synced the photos from?

THANK YOU! I had synced photo albums from a computer I no longer own so choosing sync>Selected Folders>Check none it deleted the albums.
