QuickTime player will not upload to youtube

I am on OS X 10.9 (Mavericks), QuickTime player 10.3 (727.1). I cannot upload my movies to youtube form withing the player. I have my Google account set up correctly, but when I click on the share button and choose YouTube.. the sheet drops from the top of the window but nothing happens for minutes.. I have to force quit QuickTime player. Sharing to vimeo works without any problems at all. Anyone has any idea how to solve this? Thanks.

Still an issue for me, deleting the item from the Keychain didn't help. Note though that after I removed it from my keychain & tried submitting again, afterwards I got an e-mail in my Google account saying:

Please review your Account Activity page at ....to see if anything looks suspicious. Whoever tried to sign in to your account knows your password; we recommend that you change it right away.

You can switch to an app made by Google such as Gmail to access your account (recommended) or change your settings athttps://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureappsso that your account is no longer protected by modern security standards.

Going to https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps brings you to a page that gives you a choice to revert your account back to "less secure", which I'm guessing Quicktime is one such app.

If so, kinda ridiculous that Apple hasn't updated the app.

Same here. Finally gave up using QT to do it. Exported and used YouTube's uploader. Worked fine. And yeah... I had the same questions about "youtube name". Makes no sense. Also, just got the same "We recently blocked a sign-in attempt to your Google Account" email. I guess QT's sign-in attempt is so goofy that Google blocks it? And this...
