How to interpret EtreCheck result ?

Maverick is becoming virtually unusable for me. Problems are multiplying daily!

I have never had to resort to using a tool/fix like this before!

I have no idea how to interpret/use/understand this report from EtreCheck. Please help

Reed, thank you for your cogent comments. I expect that you are correct that the best/only way out of the mess I am in would be to wipe the disk and re-install Maverick.

However, forgive me, if I wipe the disk, how do I preserve all the personal files & folders I have? Yes, they are backed up, but adding back each one individually will also be time consuming and possible error/loss. Or migrating, won't that just add over the crap I am needing to get rid of?

Referring back to an earlier post about Login item in User prefs: That folder has been open for hours and is not listing a single item. Even when/if it does load can the unnecessary items just be trashed?

Reply to "AntiVirus is unknown to me."

Spotlight found 3 cached items related to "AntiVirus" and I deleted all 3.

I got into User/Login items via Spotlight and deleted many (not all) of the items -- there were several with yellow triangle-exclamation that indicated "Unknown" (all deleted)

There are additional items to work & delete.

I have not yet worked on USB Hubs drivers/updates. Things are certainly better but not fixed.

Concerning post about USB Hubs:

Many are Apple.

I have 2 Plugable Hubs , one is 3.0 and the other 2.0.

I have 10-port 2.0 hub that I guess is by TERMINUS TECHNOLOGY INC.

I have purchased another Plugable Hub to replace the one that is 2.0 compatible. I get some help from the product page that the 3.0 Hub "should be" (my words) compatible with OSX 10.9 [http://plugable.com]

and another Plugable 3.0 Hub to replace the old 2.0 TERMINUS TECHNOLOGY INC hub.

As best I can see/guess this should make all my USB hubs compatible with Maverick.
