IPhone 5 with IOS 7.0.3 3G connection lost!

Recently I had a very serious issue regard 3G connection lost on my iPhone 5 with iOS 7.0.3.

I'm having this issues for about a week plus, now whenever I'm going into no service area basement for example and come back up after few minutes my phone will be showing my telco provider name DIGI for example but there will be no have any 3G connection.

No matter what I do, TURN ON airplane mode then TURN OFF, OR TURN OFF mobile data then TURN ON or even disabled 3G and Enabled back. It will still no 3G connection. Until I will need to restart or reboot my device then only manage to get back my 3G connection again.

This surely is not my device problem, it will not happen if I didn't went into no service area.
I had fresh restore and reset my network setting as well but still not help.

Anyone experience this? What you have did to solve this issue?

Thanks for help in advance.

The reset of the automatic setting for carrier finally helped me. In last 3 days at home, I installed the 7.1 update, went to the airport in USA and made a few calls before boarding and texting before take off. then took a flight to Italy, turning on Airplane mode. When I arrived Italy, No Carrier' at the Milan airport. It took the next few hours to finally find the support link here and it worked as you said but the carriers did not show up very quickly, like 2-3 minutes.

Update, as promised. Right, I tried all the carrier settings suggestions but they didn't work for me (to explain, I did manage to hold onto 3G when I manually set my carrier however this then led to the annoying 'lost network...' message when dropping off the network). Setting the carrier manually was the only way that I could retain 3G without picking up 3's 2G service and getting stuck on it when returning to 3G coverage (easily fixed by flicking on and flicking off Aeroplane Mode but annoying nonetheless).

What I eventaully had to do was a restore - thankfully I was able to use my backup (taken moments before) to restore my environment. Not sure why my phone went screwy.

As an aside, I was also having problems with Airdrop - it regularly asked me to 'touch to activate....' when trying to share. This drove me to restore. Since the restore, Airdrop is now working as it should.

I hope this helps someone.

My network is Orange (EE) UK,

I too find than whenever I have been connected to wi-fi, and then go outside my iPhone5 steadfastly refuses to pick up 3G although the carrier signal is strong. The only solution that works for me is to go to Restore Network Settings - which is a pain because then all the auto sign in to known wi-fi sites disappears!!

I have all the latest ios7 updates, and frankly I am really annoyed, - come on Apple, is this a known bug, and can it be fixed???

Good morning!

I have an iPhone 5 with iOS 8.1.2 (12B440).

My experience is that I have another iPhone 5 before that one that lost everytime the 3G, I sent it to the apple care and they gave me another one NEW, this one.

But three monts later, the same problem with another (the new one) iPhone 5, the 3G and 4G lost connection or signal.

I umplugged the automatic carrier and select manual mine, the problem is still.

I have too many apple stuffs (iMac, iPad, Macbook Pro, etc...) and I had too many problems with it, I had an Macbook pro earlier 2011 and the graphic card system blow!, the result 480 USD. Is a computer that cost 1900 USD not a HP of 450 USD. Where is the apple quality?

Now my iPhone 5 still with the matter.

I´ve just bought and iMac 5k, but I am sure that if the problems continue will be my last apple stuff.

Thanks a lot and this is only my experience with apple products!
