I came to this forum to see if other ipad air owners are experiencing same problem with low memory crashing as I do but seems like I'm one of the few people have this. So far I have 10 low memory crash reports. I also have about 30 more crash reports but it's from various apps. I got my ipad air on the launch day, second in line, here in California. Maybe I just have a defective one, I don't know. If you have same issues, please reply so I can determine if I should return it or just live with it. Closing apps every day is a hassle. I wish Apple just put in extra gig of ram. Overall, I am extremely happy with my ipad. There are so many good this things to mention about this ipad but this is wrong thread to do that.

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

Mine new iPad air is running fine.

    Hi Yellow,

I'm the same as you! I love my Air but can't decide weather to return it or not.

I own a MacBook Pro, IPhone and another Ipad and non of them crash anywhere near as much as the Air does.

I have the same problem as you, mainly concentrated on two applications not all.

The development team of one of they has recognised the same problems with some of their users,

I have this issue too. One Gig of RAM is not enough. The low memory crash happens less often than it did with my old iPad 2, but it shouldn't happen at all. Apple is behind the competition when it comes to RAM memory. At their price point, this should not happen. I purchased on the release date and wasn't aware of the amount of RAM. I'm annoyed by this.

I am having same issue. Purchased on release date...software up to date...set up as "new" rather than restore. Have tried multiple resets, numerous setting tweaks and all "fixes" suggested on the internet....nothing works. I mostly use for safari searches, seldom use other apps. Crashes multiple times within an hour. Have a full charge, close all open apps, same thing over and over. I too, have turned on the send diagnostic feature to send crash report to Apple.  All show in diagnostic report "low memory" incident.

Some additional info for my previous post. My iPad Air is 64g wifi only. I am not having this issue with my iPad2 on same ios7 latest release. My iPad2 is 64g wifi/VZ cellular but I do not have a data plan on it. Hope this addl info helps.

My iPads are both 32gb WiFi only. I have two memory clearing and reporting apps.  They each "unfreeze" without requiring a reboot, but I still am very disappointed. I hope that there is a software fix. I have turned off background refresh. I have checked the setting to send diagnostic reports to Apple.

had that on my iPad 3 too. The iTunesStore crashed 99% of the time.

Hint by Apple was to turn off the "background refresh" option in iOS 7 preferences.

(I´m from Germany, hope u know what I mean)

My new iPad Air has quit Safari twice now due to low memory, both times when browsing Facebook. I wasn't doing much in the background.

If the most popular tablet can't browse one of the most popular websites without crashing, and it's brand new, that's pretty crap. I guess it will only get worse, like it did for the original iPad? Surely Apple knew that 1GB is not enough - they must have millions of low-memory crash reports sent by their diagnostic upload.

    I'm thinking about returning mine.

I have returned mine and now continuing using my old iPad2

Fortunately Apple facilitate the returning process without any problem, that's something not all manufactures can say.

I've had 3 applications crashing the system but working ok on ipad2. Developers are confirming that something happens with the new processor and memory management on OS7

I'm really disappointed with the new iPad Air, It's far of being a breakthrough , I would like to have a better device, iPad Air is not the answer, Apple is losing his position. I've started thinking if continuing waiting Apple advances or change to a more competitive device, hard decision,  inevitable good bye to my favorite apps ?

I'm having the same problem on my ipad air. Safari crashes a few times a day. My iPhone 4S has less ram and is fine. Considering returning then trying again if they release a patch.
