Ipad air low memory crash

I came to this forum to see if other ipad air owners are experiencing same problem with low memory crashing as I do but seems like I'm one of the few people have this. So far I have 10 low memory crash reports. I also have about 30 more crash reports but it's from various apps. I got my ipad air on the launch day, second in line, here in California. Maybe I just have a defective one, I don't know. If you have same issues, please reply so I can determine if I should return it or just live with it. Closing apps every day is a hassle. I wish Apple just put in extra gig of ram. Overall, I am extremely happy with my ipad. There are so many good this things to mention about this ipad but this is wrong thread to do that.

Hello,

I applauded too earlier.

I was in search of info on chromecast and I found that on a local Dutch website. This site immediately crashes both safari and mecury browser in my iPad Air. I did not search deliberately for a website that crashes my iPad Air. It was a random visit. The same website works fine with my ipad2.

Grrr... What next after iOS 7.1?

I am disappointed :-(

I still have an ipad1 with IOS 5, with a similar crashing issues (but then 10 times worse), this particular androidworld site also crashes on the ipad1. I am considering an iPad air, but the crash related messages in the forum keep me from buying one. Note that this site works well on a Google Nexus 7, I hardly have stablity issues with the nexus7 (2013 version) at all.

Hello,

Till this point I consider Mercury more stable then Safari. But it turned now the other way around. Safari did immediately crash on the website. After a second time it was fine, but later it crashed again. Mercury crashes instantly on this website. BTW: I do like Mercury much better then Safari, not only because it works also fine on my Galaxy S4 ;-).

I have notice since 7.1 that with Safari that sometimes a first visit or start on a website crashes Safari, but a second visit on the website then works OK. Rather then some caching or so I do not really get this behavior.

Anyhow all this think, experimenting, user experience about a Apple Product with a big flaw should just not be need. Apple was one of the last company were I thought products do work decent out of the box. I believe those times are gone and Apple joins Windows & Andriod camp in that respect with too many issues and endless upgrades.

When I (actually family device) bought an iPad 2 years ago, it was at the time the only decent tablet. Beside one hick up upgrading to iOS 6 at a given time, we loved the iPad. In the meantime 7-inch tablets grew in the family with a HP 7 Slate and Nexus 7 2012. I still bought the iPad Air as it was seen still the best 10-inch tablet at the begin of this year. However as mentioned earlier I was heavily doubting about the Samsung 10.1 Note 2014. I was at the point of bring the iPad Air back to the store, but waited for 7.1. I am still not sure what is the better choice in this case. If the iPad Air would have shown as flawless as when I got the iPad 2, no question about it. I would be a happy camper :-) But now I have a very mixed feeling. :-(

Brgds,

While there seems to be some improvement since 7.1, I'm still having issues with low memory "freezing", which requires me to use a memory clearing app in order to complete the loading of a Safari page. This is very disappointing. Android products are looking better to me as this continues. I have an iPad Air and an iPhone 5. My phone contract is over in September. I'm considering the next Google Nexus phone even though my iPhone is not as problematic as the iPad. As far as the tablet, I probably will stay with the iPad for a year or so because of my investment in it and many apps. My wife and son each have Nexus tablets. These never crash, regardless of how many apps and web pages are running.
