Ipad air low memory crash

I came to this forum to see if other ipad air owners are experiencing same problem with low memory crashing as I do but seems like I'm one of the few people have this. So far I have 10 low memory crash reports. I also have about 30 more crash reports but it's from various apps. I got my ipad air on the launch day, second in line, here in California. Maybe I just have a defective one, I don't know. If you have same issues, please reply so I can determine if I should return it or just live with it. Closing apps every day is a hassle. I wish Apple just put in extra gig of ram. Overall, I am extremely happy with my ipad. There are so many good this things to mention about this ipad but this is wrong thread to do that.

It doesn't matter where you bought your iPad as long as you bought it from an authorized seller, which Best Buy is. So you can do the same thing and take your iPad to the Apple Store.

I love your comments. What if you bought the iPad at Best Buy? Wished I would've bought it from apple store so I could ask to return due to the problems. I definitely agree with everything you said and like the insight you offered!

Hi

I managed to see one of your deleted postings. It was a list of questions - a poll. That goes against 2.4 of the terms if use, for what it's worth.

And the answer to most of your questions would be already answered on this thread ie yes most people are having all those issues with the ipad air and yes it is a botched up product offering (to put it nicely)

I also personally think apple will stay quiet on this like most major companies would (ie no respect for us punters, not why they are here) until at least retail quietens down later in January/feb and after that return period. In fact don't be surprised if nothing is said at all but then the next "incredible, cool" ipad is released "that we are so excited about, that has been built from the bottom up". Praise to the gods and the people that come down from the mountains of apple with gifts of splendour. Sorry, gifts of "incredible and cool" splendour.

Or should I play with another quote? "1gb is enough? My *ss, it's enough"

I cannot reproduce the iTunes crash, including movie preview, no matter how many or few apps I have open. If that happened after a hardwire refresh, I would conclude it to be a defective box or a server connection issue. The first two links Fabio provided are interesting and echo my own thoughts per ios7 and RAM.

And no, I don't like the idea of workarounds, turning off features, but then again the motion feature I found irritating and it made my wallpaper photo impossible to position to my liking. The auto update of apps is a loser for me because I like to read the reviews of the updates first to avoid being auto-hosed. The bookmark bar was nice but I can get to my faves with one or two keystrokes anyway, and storing the rest down in the folder doesn't seem to cause any issues. The rest of my suggestions are cautionary, as letting the system churn in the background for the negligible convenience it might provide for me is outweighed by not exercising code that might interfere with my foreground stuff. For the time being, of course.

I expect to like my Air until the Air2 comes out. But then again my ipad4 was plenty good enough. But I wanted more storage, better wifi, and snappier graphics. My rationale was that I spend a couple hours a day easy on my ipad, and a few bucks a day for the improvements is worth it. But I do hope Apple gets ios7 patched up soon. It's a leaker right now.

Lsmith, I forwarded a link to this page along with your YouTube link to the senior advisor I'm dealing with. I also spoke to him last night and he said the engineers need a different set of error logs so He asked me to download the "iPhone Configuration Utility 3.5" on my Mac. We ran in it while the iPad air was connected to my mac and then I started to test the iTunes app. As the app crashed error logs were recorded in the utility's console screen. I immediately emailed the log to my Advisor. He passed them over to Engineering. He said he'll call me tonight ...stay tuned.

Does the crash only happen when apps are minimized? Can anyone let us know?

Do you have to be online to crash?

I read the entire thread. I hope more people tell us what they were doing the moment it crashed. I hope Rothgarr and others give more information on why they're getting the apple picture once or more a day.

There are not enough details. Settings, apps used, OS used, etc.

AT THIS POINT, SOME DOUBTS AND FEARS ARE ASSAILING MY MIND...

APPLE, THE MOST ADMIRED AND RICH COMPANY, WHAT KIND OF TEST AND QUALITY APPROACHES USES?

IS IT THIS ISSUE DUE TO POOR SOFTWARE TESTING? NO, I DON'T THINK SO....

I THINK INSTEAD THEY ARE SURELY AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT DECIDED TO HIDE IT, BECAUSE THEY ARE OFTEN MORE FOCUSED IN APPEARANCES THAN PRACTICAL THINGS

IF SO, HOW CAN APPLE MOCK AND TRICK THEIR CUSTOMERS IN SUCH A WAY?

THE ANSWER MY FRIEND IS BLOWIN' IN THE WIND... :-D
