Why does new Haswell Macbook have double the Latency!?!?!?

Everyone please call Apple to report this. The new Macbook is giving me, and others, double the latency in Logic and Ableton. This is not acceptable and hopefully Apple can fix. I don't think it's Mavericks because I haven't heard people reporting the same issue with a simple OS upgrade. Anyone else have any info or fixes please advise. Same buffer settings and sample rate and Logic reports an extra 10 ms of latency on the new Macbook I just saved up for.

I sure wish someone could help me out here... I'm very confused by the latency issue and the new MBP.

I'd love to buy a new 13", but low latency is important to me: I use my computer for songwriting with Ableton (and potentially with Logic) and I sing directly into my computer with a Samson USB mic. Just rough writer's demos. Quality is fine for my purposes, and this works fine on my 2008 IMAC.

I want to be mobile with a retina screen and I'd ALSO love to be able to capture vocal ideas with the built-in mic and just headphones, when I'm on the road. I've never been able to do this on my PC laptops because of latency, I've been migrating to Apple BECAUSE OF SOLIDLY LOW LATENCY.

Is this going to be a frustration for me then if I get a new MBP? Should I wait, as was vaguely suggested by the cagey folks at Apple core audio? Or is the new box going to be workable with headphones plugged in?

Any help greatly appreicated,

Moosebear
