Why won't my Notes sync from iPad to iMac?
Since upgrading to Maverick my Notes no longer sync from iPad to iMac? Am I doing something wrong? or perhaps not doing something I should?

You can sync with the Notes app using IMAP or iCloud. Syncing Notes using iTunes is no longer supported on OS X v10.8 and later. She here for more information.
IMAP, iCloud, whatever. It seems like this should Just Work™. My Mom is not going to figure out what IMAP is.
This worked! Thank you! How do I tag you or mark you or whetever its called with the 'legend' 'this solved my problem' ?
Thanks!
My problem was that I had NOTES generated before I began using iCloud, so they were associated with a different email address that was set-up as a POP3 account and was not tied to my apple ID. As soon as I created a new IMAP email account on both devices for that same email address the NOTES sync'd immediately.
You can see the email account that the NOTES are associated with by tapping on the ACCOUNTS button in the upper left of the NOTES screen.

Thank you. That did the trick for me!
Very helpful!

Between BurlyRedYeti and jeffrey oh bee, my Notes are syncing again.
Thanks!
Thank You for the suggestion to click "Notes" off and then on again in iCloud system preferences. My iPhone notes and my MacBookPro Notes are now synced.
I haven't seen this answer but it's the one that worked perfectly for me. Your phone or ipad probably has several accounts associated with notes and those are not the same accounts on your Mac. To check this, open the notes app on your phone. You'll see accounts in the top left corner. Click on that. You'll likely have "from my mac," "icloud" and then a few others listed --- mine included the accounts I had set up with my email. The default account for notes was my gmail account (even though I've never used notes in gmail and didn't realize that was an option). So there are two fixes to this. First, you could change your default account on your phone or ipad settings to the iCloud account or you can add your gmail account (or whatever email was set as default on the device you want synced) to your Mac. To add the account on your Mac, open the Notes app on your Mac. Click "Notes" on the menu bar and choose "add accounts"
I added the account my phone had been using so all my old notes were visible on my Mac too. I then switched my default on the phone to iCloud to make sure all future notes sync up nicely. Good luck!
I had a similar problem which turned out to be because I was using public wifi access - which typically has a number of features disabled, including UPNp, NAT-PMP and SSL...once I connected to a secure private network everything synched within minutes. I don't know which of these features were the issue, but it might be worth apple including a comment on this issue in their help notes.
what is mavericks?
I'm not sure if your kidding or not :-)
Mavericks is Mac OS X 10.9
Forgive me, I'm a brand spanking new convert from PC world, so I'm pretty clueless still. Thanks. I just didn't see the option to sync notes in iTunes on my new iMac, even though I thought i was following the advice here. Thanks for letting me in on the lingo! Sorry for my stupidity.
Stupidity is welcome here - especially when it's a convert! Welcome. It's trolls we don't like. :-)
Hi!
So next stupid question, and this from a Apple-maniac of thirty one years standing: now that I’ve synched all my devices to iCloud or whatever, WHERE do I find the notes I had written on my iPad, iPhone, etc, on my iMac?
Thank you.
