Facebook update not updating

For those who have not deleted the Facebook app and still having problem with updating it and now can't use the Facebook app, here's what I did so I can use it again while waiting for that Facebook update issue to be fixed.

1) Enable Airplane Mode.

2) Go to App Store > Updates or Purchased > Updates.

3) Tap the Facebook update until you see the Update button.

4) Disable Airplane Mode.

5) Start using Facebook app again. (Don't update it.)

I'm from Brazil and I'm having the same problem on both of my accounts. I tried updating then it said Facebook couldn't be downloaded at this time and then the icon became blanke. I deleted and tried to download again, same thing and now it shows and iCloud icon on the button that used to say "free", what does that mean?

Facing the same issue since last several hours. I have deleted the FB app as well thinking it might resolve the issue, but naah!!! Now I dont have FB at all. I cant even install it back using itunes. Looks like this is an issue with the app itself. Hopefully the fix will be rolled out soon. 😝

If you delete then reinstall but do not click update! That's when it screws up just go to screen and click the fb icon it will open the old version wait for them to fix problem before updating worked for me, remember don't cluck update!

Same problem as everyone else. Only I stopped the update that won't download , closed and restarted the app and didn't attempt to update. Then I deleted the app, did a hard rest of the iPad, and then went into App Store>Purchased, located it and attempted to install.

WILL NOT EVEN INSTALL

Now, I have NO Facebook on my ipad.

Very angry.

Thanks Bizio61... that fixed it for me. Still screws up if I try to update it to latest FB, but I just did what you said again and it worked again, so I'm not updating it until it's fixed.

Well here I am on the 9th having the same issue. Part of me is saying just let it go as I'm annoyed with half the posts anyway. But another part of me hates it when things don't work the way they should. So I'll keep trying.

I have exactly the same problem for the past hour. Iphone 4 running ios 6.1.3 I deleted Facebook completely and started a new download and stillness stuck. Deleted it again. Will now try fooika' s solution. Just a quick question, if my phone is not set to auto sync when connected continues, should I manually sync first or should I proceed with these steps before syncing?

hjave deleted facebook app from my ipad have restarted the ipad but still cannot download it, what shiit is aaple doing with us, i need a solution from apple right now. I would not have downloaded the update if it was notannounced inthe appstore, so what is going on????

Apple did not do this, FB did. Complain to FB. Besides, does your life revolve around FB such that you cannot wait a day or two for a solution?

Im having the same error.

Sadly, already deleted the FB app and tried to re-download/re-install it and still cant.

when trying to redownload it from cloud, i can only see the version 6.7.1. same error when i tried.

I had this problem also but I got mine to install on my iPhone 5, all I had to do is connect my phone to iTunes, and then go to the iPhone tab and then the Apps tab and go through the apps until you find Facebook, and the click on the install and then Sync, and it shoud install the app on your phone.

O.K. We all know the update ISN'T working, on this thread so far it tells you how to at least get your Facebook work, how about we all quit crying it isn't updating and read what others have posted and once the update workslet us know. My e-mail is loaded with nothing but people cryig about this. EVERYONE knows it doesn't update right now.

This update is making me nuts!! I've also tried the works.. Hard reset.. Re-installing.. Changing time zones.. Etc.

Didn't do anything.. The other day it won't show the actual timeline on Facebook via computer.. Now, this??

Please please please.... Anyone who might know some other work-arounds please post them...
