Facebook update not updating

When I put it in airplane mode it shuts off wifi and when I go to the app store I get a pop up asking me to switch out of airplane mode to access the app store. So this does not work for everyone and I'm not sure how you got it to work for you.

Having the same issue in my wife's phone. Tried all things mentioned and still no resolution...So my wife will not have a Facebook till her final exam ? Good job Apple/Facebook, you care for students ... lol... :-)

The error happens because Apple has put the previous version to download Facebook 6.6, when trying to update Facebook Apple offers a version 6.6 then the update error occurs, it would be a downgrade if you have version 6.7 and will be the same version if with 6.6, so if you delete and reinstall will get the old version 6.6, and no error happens in the download, but should delete and download the iDevice.

Been following the forum all day, and all the workarounds.. sadly, still a "no go".. I guess I'll wait til tomorrow if it installs/updates properly..

Very simple fix just did it on my iPhone. Deleted the Facebook app went onto google and searched Facebook for iPhone v6.6 found it on cnet installed it and back to Facebook working. Hope is helps people

I experienced the same issue this morning on my iPhone 4s and iPad 2. What I did to resolve the problem is, delete the Facebook app from both devices, then went to the App Store and downloaded Facebook again (cloud icon). That installed version 6.6 on both devices. I then synched both devices to iTunes. I still have the notification for the update, of course will not install that until the issue is resolved, but I am able to log into Facebook on both devices.

Try this (it worked for me):

-Update your Itunes to the latest version.

-Go to app store (on computer) and download the facebook app.

-After the download is completed,try to sync your device.

You should have the app ready to go. 🙂

Very early this morning I deleted the app in attempt to re-install it with the latest update. No dice, as I got the "could not be downloaded" error and thus no FB app on iPad at all. So I decided to wait on it and access FB via the web browser.

JUST NOW checked to see if I could re-download and install FB.

Yep...it downloaded (took a little while longer than usual...I assume because of the heavy download demand), installed and WORKS! Finally. So far, so good. Hopefully, I won't see any crashes, etc.

Give the update/reinstall a try....

I was having the same problem. I fixed it by downloading the updated Facebook app through iTunes on my computer. Then, I synced my iPhone (5s, iOS 7.0.3) to my computer. It took one heck of a long time, but I was able to install a working version of Facebook on my iPhone. I will now try the same thing on my iPad5.

Guys just go to general > app and iTunes > logout from your account and go to AppStore try to download the Facebook again and it will ask you to login your account ..login and you are ready ..

This problem its from iCloud sometimes stuck ..

when you press update in appstore go out off appstore, double click on home button swipe app store upp then rebot your device by holding the home and power button for 10-15 seconds after that it should download the update. this worked for me.

I'm reading posts from people saying this is fixed. I don't think has been resolved. When I tried to install yesterday it did install but I was not seeing full information. When I logged in through the app I only saw half the people in my chat but when I was in safari I saw more people and more content in news feed. I think if this was fixed we would see a current date for this fix under updates but mine still shows the date of November 8th when this fix came out. I haven't seen any responses from Apple or Facebook saying this is fixed. Don't know about anyone else but I'm using the 6.6 version until I know this is corrected.

Having the same prob, it blocked my Facebook completely so I had to open Facebook on Safari. I rebooted my iPhone, changed the date to 8th November and then clicked on it (it wasnt blank by then - the Facebook icon came back). It uploaded the app and now it works again!

Same problem here -- with the same unsuccessful fixes that everyone else has tried. I deleted the app and am seriously considering never reinstalling it. Facebook's iPhone app has consistently been more of a problem than almost any other app I have (which is over 150). That's quite a feat for one of the Valley's leading companies. For the dwindling amount of time I spend on FB now, I'll just use Safari.
