No sound after sleep
Is anyone else having a problem on their Mac (mines the rMBP late 2013) where the sound doesn't work after sleep?
MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

I'm having the same issue and really tired of having to restart, especially when I use it for work. Did unplugging your headphones before it goes to sleep work? I've done all the updates and am using a late 2013 MBP. My early 2011 never had this issue????
I have the same problem with my macbook pro retina 15" late 2013, OS X Mavericks 10.9.1. After sleep mode.
Apple, look at this problem and make a decision to us please.
I have tried to repeat the problem for two days and have not been able to. This appears to be a "pesky" problem that is difficult to reproduce - at least with my configuration. I was hoping to see if it would happen again so I could recheck the sound in "preferences" to see if the mute box was checked after resetting the "coreaudiod" with a speaker or headphones attached.
No, it doesn't checked. I haven't sound now, and don't reboot yet.
Did you reset "coreaudiod"?
Yes, no effect.
Go to preferences and click on sound. Is the mute box checked? Doe the preference indicate external speakers?
If you disconnect your external audio does your internal speaker play as it did for me?
It's not checked. If i unplug external audio is no effect.
I haven't been able to repeat my sound problem yet. I do know that when I reset the "coreaudiod" I was able to hear my internal speakers after removing the extenal audio cable without needing a reboot. When I reconnected my audio cable the speakers did not play. When I looked in preferences the audio mute box was checked. I am waiting to find the problem again to find out if the mute box is checked since I have no idea why that would have occured. I haven't had the problem since resetting "coreaudio" so I can't say what will happen till it occurs again.
Ok, i will do same things when the problem is repeat.
Finally after 3 days my computer woke from sleep and decided not to make any sounds again. I was ready and waiting to use the coreaudiod "sudo killall coreaudiod" command in Terminal and that did not bring the sound back from external headphones or internal speakers. I then quit coreaduiod from the Activity Monitor and that did nothing either. The coreaudio reset seemed to work partly for my external speakers the last time around but not this time. Rebooting brought everything back to normal again. Nothing seems to fix the problem even partly and you can never repeat the problem on demand. I had to wait three days before it happened to me again. Once again, the sound setting in Preferences indicates the right ouput even though there is no sound until after a reboot.
I am also having sound issues. I have no option for clicking internal speakers. But, when I put my headphones in the sound works fine :/
I am also having external HD issues after 10.9.1, but that is for another thread...
I have the late 2013 15" rMBP with 10.9.1 and almost every time I engage sleep mode it loses audio to my headphones. When I unplug them, audio doesn't come out from the internal speakers either. Restarting fixes the problem every time, but its getting quite annoying.
This problem didn't exist on my previous MBP from 2010 with mavericks on it. Please fix this in your next patch Apple. Thanks.
I have a late 2013 MBP with 10.9.1 update installed since it was available, and today I started to experience the problem with no sound after sleep, and now the problem is 100% reproducable by putting the MBP to sleep.
The only thing that brings sound back is a reboot, come on Apple, please provide a fix ASAP!
