Thank you for your step by step instruction.

1: open iTunes folder,
Just to be precise: it means the iTunes folder in the user's music folder, and it should be opened by the Finder.
2: then make an alias of the movie folder
3: place that in your USER movie folder.
Just to be precise: the movie folder can be found inside the "iTunes Media" folder.
This gives access to the movies added to iTunes, but not to the iTunes library itself.
Of course this is helpful, but something different: in iTunes the movies can be organzied in playlists.
This structure is lost in Front Row now.
Same for the music but even worse: in iTunes the music library and the playlists show the music entries. In the iTunes folder this music is organzied in (sub)folders which do not correspond to the playlists.
Again this structure is lost in Front Row now.
Please do not misunderstand: your instruction is helpful. And it gives access to the iTunes media.
But all playlists are lost - and this is what we said: the next step in other discussions is the compatibility to the iTunes library.
And there are alternatives which give access to the iTunes library and playlists...
I love it! Thanks for your comment!
XBMC it´s great and works very well with apple remote.
OMG MacTechProX! This totally works on Mavericks. I have my front row back!
how can i get the right files in the right places, from a snow leopard install dvd? i can view the dvd through pacifist or by showing the contents, but i've searched for front row on the dvd and i get lots of hits...
thanx for the tips =D
There are a number of suggested alternatives to Front Row here. I doubt any of them will do what FR did - let me watch movies that I have in iTunes on another computer on my home network. Anyone have any experience with that?
To be clear, I'm on my laptop, my movies are on my iMac. I want to watch a movie on my laptop using Front Row or a capable alternative. Based on all the talk about creating aliases (alii?) I'm betting nothing else will do it. I just tried XBMC and it had no clue about iTunes on my local computer, let alone on another computer.
Thanks!
You'd probably like to downgrade the OS, for me Snow Leopard is better than other versions in so many ways that I choose not to upgrade it, so I'm still using it on an iMac 24' and enjoy every minute of it... of course I have a latest version on a macbook pro but that's another story...
