Keep getting asked to put in Facebook password, can't delete the account in the settings.

I'm having a similar problem with the Facebook app. My problem though is that it won't log me in, it keeps saying it can't communicate with the server. It only asks for a password though and I can't find anywhere to put in my Facebook ID. It was working yesterday but has suddenly decided it wants a password.

on my wife's iPad2, there ISN'T a radio button for Facebook in the Settings > Privacy > Facebook area. There is only some Dice game. Turning that off doesn't make a difference. I've tried all the other 'fixes' to no avail ...

I should have said that I used to have an IPad3 and now have an IPad Air - both of these have the radio buttons. Having not got an IPad2 I cannot comment on this. I did say that this may work for some not others....

Actually, I think this part of the Settings is the same for all these models, after one chooses 'Facebook' or 'Twitter', there seems to be a radio button for Facebook or Twitter in the following panel. BUT not always, as I have just found.

On my iPad mini and iPhone4, there are radio buttons for Facebook but NOT Twitter. On my wife's iPad2 (now) there's currently none, since they were reset. Previously, there was one in the Twitter section, but none in the Facebook section. On my wife's iPhone5, there are several buttons (for games) including FB, but none for Twitter. (I'll have to switch those !@#$%!! game buttons OFF ...! That probably what allows the games to spam everyone.)

So ... I had been thinking that not having a radio button for Facebook was an indication or 'symptom' of the problem, now I don't believe that's the case. It's just whether the app has requested access to one's FB account.

But maybe it is an indication in this case ... maybe Facebook requests access to itself, but (in the glitchy FB app) it is not granted. So that kicks off the endless loop that folks see ... ??? Total speculation, but WTH.

I get what you are saying....yeah I agree with your theory as it would explain the cyclical issue. I really think Apple need to sort this out as it is ridiculously stupid that other users are still experienced problems...

I live in London and luckily we have some really great Apple staff in stores and I will go in and ask one of them. I will show the, your summation and let you know what they say.

I cannot delete Facebook I know longer have access to the email or password for the email or Facebook account because I was hacked and cannot delete Facebook off my iPad. And every other suggestion does not work

No joy. My stored e-mail address is apparently the empty string as I keep getting prompted to input the password for "". No way to delete the account. Apple needs to fix this. Very poor planning and customer service. Anyone know of a work around/fix. It is unacceptable that Apple is taking so long to fix this critical issue.

All you need to do is go to settings > Facebook put in the password of the deactivated account the click your name, click delete, remove Facebook info and ta da!!!! It doesn't reactivate your account.

Same problem. Apple support where are you. My Facebook account was tied to an internet provider email address. We changed providers. I switched my Facebook email address and password. Now I cannot delete my Facebook account on my iPad using my old or new password (and yes I am using the return key).

I was hoping that 7.1 would fix all my problems, but I still have this bug, among many others.

iOS 7 is driving me mad! Apple, do something about your crappy software. **** Carplay, give me a working iPad! 😠

I also applied the latest update hoping that this very serious issue would be addressed, and still no help. This is unbelieveable. Such poor design and no support or fix. Apple, please provide a fix for this!

Okay I tried every other solution before this one to no avail. But THIS one! It worked omg I have been battling with this issue for a while and omgsh so glad it's finally working. Thank you! I even contacted apple and facebook and they gave me nothing! Thanks again

I had the same issues as everyone with iPad 2 which my sister gave me with iOS 7 Factory resetted and I did not have the ability to Delete the Facebook Account (which was never set up on here in first place) OR change the User ID whatsoever. After trying this, it did not work.... Settings > General > Reset > Location and Privacy.

However... I did find finally a solution for myself and maybe you guys can use it as well.

*This is really my first hands on Apple iOS experience as I'm a hardcore Android fan and while there are things that are nice on Apple, I can't stand not having a Back Button and silly issues like this which if you see on Android is not the case with Jelly Bean or newer, especially Galaxy S4.

1. With an Ipad 2 with iOS 7.1 Upgraded. Backup to iCloud and also manually backup to newest iTunes (I used iTunes 64bit on Windows 7).

2. After properly ejecting, Settings > General > Reset > Reset Location and Privacy.

3. Reset Home Screen Layout

4. Reset Keyboard Dictionary

5. Reset Network Settings. At this point it should automatically restart.

6. After restarting, Go to Settings > General > Reset > and "Erase All Content and Settings". Make sure Not to tap the first option "Reset All Settings".

7. It will restart and act like a new iPad but here's the KEY that I think made it work. When it asks you whether or not to restore from iTunes or iCloud, you say set it up like a New iPad. You still can restore things from the cloud afterwards. I think if restoring from a backup/iCloud, you will have the same issues. When I did this, and afterwards put my iCloud information I found immediately under the Settings > Facebook > that I was able to fully type in my Facebook email and password and it Worked!

Hi , has anybody had this problem ...... I changed my Facebook password this morning after a log in I thought I didn't recognise ( forgot the wine induced login on friends iPad last night ) anyway I changed it on iPhone 5c this morning via safari , no problems there also changed password in settings for Facebook all fine BUT my iPad 2 is another story !! Doesn't show me my username and will to accept my new password or my old so am stuck . Hoping it won't effect me using it too much but doesn't anybody know how to fix it or had the same issue. Lots that I've just read back seem to be referring to old accounts not current ones .
