Keep getting asked to put in Facebook password, can't delete the account in the settings.

Ever since the recent update I keep getting a pop up asking me to enter my facebook password. I've been told to go into my settings and delete the Facebook account but it won't delete. Facebook says this has nothing to do with them because it's not the Facebook app. I have deleted the app it's self many times. I can't even log into the app because that pop up keeps coming up. So I haven't downloaded it again. And I'm still getting that pop up, even when I'm writing this it's popping up asking me to put in my facebook password.

I need to know how I can delete the account in my settings, because it won't delete when I hit "delete account".

I got married, changed my Facebook name and gave my account a new password. Now, under settings and Facebook they have my ITunes/Apple ID and under it says "please sign in using (my old Facebook name) and under that is password. Only that old Facebook name has changed but did not update on my iPad settings. Also it will not accept my new password. I cannot erase it. If Apple doesnt want us to use more than one account, what do we do in this situation? Or if our Facebook gets hacked and becomes compromised? This is not okay. I have to be able to access this and because it will accept only one and will not update changes I cannot longer access my account. I buy a lot of Apple products. I won't buy another if it's not corrected. This is horribly frustrating. Not to mention waiting on youtube videos to load is almost as bad as waiting on dial-up. But that's another matter. Is there a way around this or do I need to start looking for products somewhere else? Anyone know? Thanks.

this worked for me!

Go to Settings, Privacy and turn everything off. Then go to Settings, scroll down to the "Twitter, Facebook,Vimeo" tabs, go to Facebook, hit "return" after entering your password. Make sure the facebook app is installed on your ipad and your account is active (mine was disabled at the time)

I hit return after entering my password in the Settings for Facebook and bingo! no more NSA Facebook tracking! (i hope)😁

I had this problem with my new iPad air today.

I did a forced reset by pressing the home and lock screen.

It restarted and I went to Settings > Privacy > Facebook.

I turned the button from green to off (i dont know if this made a difference, but I did it anyway)

I then clicked on the facebook app

The flashing 'Enter your password' did not come up and I was able to enter my email address and password directly and then BINGO up popped facebook.

I had a slight variation to your original question because it wanted me to enter the password to the facebook account as when the constant 'enter password' screen flashes up it had the wrong (old) email address displayed... so it was even more frustrating.

I hope this works.

Mrscamp, If you know your old facebook login ID, you can request Facebook to send you a new password; Once this is done, You can then delete this account from your apple device. As I stated in a previous post, after you type in your Facebook user name and password, press the ENTER key to login in, DO NOT SELECT the login option.

Dear all,

This worked for me....

I went to Settings > Privacy > Facebook and hit the arrow key to the right.

I turned the radio button from green to off - the one where it says an application wants access to your Facebook app account. Something here prompts for the password...

As soon as I went back to Facebook and opened the app the password prompt stopped flashing and I was able to login to my Facebook app. I don't know if this will work for you, but give it a try...it must be a glitch...and yes Apple need to sort it out!!!

I turned it on by accident and as soon as I turned it off it worked ok for me. If this fails then book an appointment with an Apple store and ask them to look at your iPad. I tried contacting Facebook and they said they cannot respond to emails personally so don't waste your time asking for help for them. It is an app issue that Apple Experts in store should be able to help you.

I'm having this same problem with a small twist: I uninstalled the Facebook app from my iPhone. Yet it still pops up asking me to log into FB, and there is still a FB entry in my Settings. Shouldn't an uninstall completely wipe all components of an app from the device? Please tell me I don't have to re-install the app, log in, log out and then uninstall it again? Makes no sense....

on my wife's iPad2, there ISN'T a radio button for Facebook in the Settings > Privacy > Facebook area. There is only some Dice game. Turning that off doesn't make a difference. I've tried all the other 'fixes' to no avail ...

THIS FIXED my wife's issues with the FB app on her iPad2 (endless loop, 'can't connect to server' etc.). Posted by 'Team Awesome 13' on another thread ...

"Here is what to do.

Settings > General > Reset > Location and Privacy. (Accept resetting Location and Privacy to 'Factory Defaults')

Then login. Hopefully Apple fix this problem when they do their upgrade."

Keep getting asked to put in Facebook password, can't delete the account in the settings.
