Never had any real issues with apple devices until a few days ago when suddenly out of the blue the latest addition, an iPad Mini of my little one started to randomly reboot 1-2 times per hour.
Giving in to the 'update available' notice seemed like a good idea at the time, sparing me the efforts of a manual back-up and re-install.
Only that instead of 1-2 times per hour, updated to 7.1 it now rebooted every few minutes, sometimes re-booting whilst still in the the middle of booting.
The iPad had in 1 day way more reboots than my aging iphone had over its entire 'life'. 8-}
Only now I turned for the first time to apple support forums - and boy oh boy - what a mess.
Reboot-issues are being reported since many years and ......nothing.... from .......Apple.
It appears that after so many years with tons of automatic error reports flooding their system, the Apple guys still have no real clue what's behind all this ?
How else would you explain that a Firmware update fixes this issue for some of -one could describe as- batches but add other new -until then 'flawlessly operating' batches- to the reboot-club ?
The apparent total random nature of both the timing of rebooting as well as the wide spread of symptoms & potential alleviations described, raises a few question marks about the consistency in specs & parts of one specific model at the very least.
