I have had the same significan battery drain problems with my macbook air 13 ever since I upgraded to Mavericks. I've done everything I can find recommended in previous posts including a clean install of Mavericks, but no improvement. I finally returned to a clean install of Mountain Lion and my battery life is back to normal. I will just have to sit and wait unti Apple acknowledges the problem and provides a fix. Very frustrated at this point, but need the battery life more than Mavericks.

Has Apple admitted this is a problem? I too have suffered with this since Mavericks - even brought my MBA into the genius bar and they could not fix it. I thought disabling the wi-fi before I put it too sleep might help (to the extent it was waking itself up and checking email and what not) but deader then dead this morning and put it to sleep last night with 85% battery.

Do you still have the same issue? With mavericks, my macbook air (mid-2013) could run for 14 hours at one single charge. I upgraded it to Yosemite a few weeks ago and then It had the battery issue. It could only last 4ish hours. So I downgraded to mavericks but the battery still drops fast. I have no idea what to do now. I really don't wanna carry the power cable around the campus all the time. 😟
