iOS 7.0.4 update screws up cellular connection

Since updating to iOS 7.0.4 I have not been able to get a connection higher than EDGE (2G). Now it also seems to be having issues find service at all.

Sitting here with No Service currently.
What the **** did Apple do with the new update?.

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.3, Actually on 7.0.4

settings - gneral - reset - reset network settings.

if that fails contact your phone carrier cellular data is a carrier feature, not an iphone or apple feature.

Hello all and Eyal,

Problem solved thanks to Apple live support!

I actually tried through Apple website (no promotion here),and I manage to find the live chat, they asked me to send a Diagnosis report, simply by clicking on a link, and that way they must get a report about the device.

The person told me that according to my report there were some issues with software crashing.

So I was asked to backup my device on iTunes, then update the device to iOS 7.0.4 again, but through iTunes this time, it was more like setting up the device as new but directly with the new update, it worked!

The only difference now is that the device will tell you when there is no service, sometimes in the past there was no service but the device would still show a line or two of signal (didn't it happen that people call you saying your phone was closed a while ago, while you wee sure you had coverage?), now it's more like the device is not lying anymore,it tells you when it is connecting, and when it is searching, so I guess my problem with software issue is gone, now it's only a matter of network coverage of the operator, the device is back alive 🙂

I hope this works for you guys, all the best.

Hi Eddie.

Very Happy it worked for you.

sadlly it did not work for me.

I was in tuch with apple support via chat and via phone and mail.

I did everything you did several times.

I was Hopping that the 7,0.4 would make a difference but not.

when ever I turn on Cellular data on the signal goes crazy.

I got my phone in the USA.

My friend got his in Israel and does not have the same problem.

where did you get yours??

I think that Apple did somthing with the cell data setting on the 7.0.3 update and I am screwed since.

If it dosen't get better this week I will be sending it back to the USA for Apple service and hopfully they will fix it.

Same here, iPhone 5, on Pelephone (Israel, mostly Tel Aviv area) since 7.0.4 reception bar is always weak (locations in which I used to have 5 'point' I now have 2-3), though it seems that actually I don't miss calls or bad sound...

I also noticed that WiFi netwrok search is also an issue, being 2 meter from the router (one I used before the update) and some time it find it and sometimes doens't....

Hi all,

I am living in Belgium, in Leuven ( near to Brussels ) since i updated my iphone 4s 64gb I have the same problem. Cellular is not working like before, always searching and bad 3g connection. Because he is always flipping and searching my battery cycle is reduced to 3-4 hours. Are you all facing the same problem? I have restored my iphone many times as new device, but still not working well... Does anyone has a good solution for this? Is apple still checking this problem?

If you can't contribute anything useful, then stay off the forum.

Big bluster from another Mr. Zero. Sounds like something you need to apply to yourself.

The problem isn't a fallacy, the "conclusion" that it's specific to iOS 7, without even doing basic troubleshooting, is.

Maybe you should actually read the thread from the beginning and implement what's already been suggested. Or, maybe you're a whiner not looking for real solutions, only a platform to complain.
