iOS 7.0.4 update screws up cellular connection

Since updating to iOS 7.0.4 I have not been able to get a connection higher than EDGE (2G). Now it also seems to be having issues find service at all.

Sitting here with No Service currently.
What the **** did Apple do with the new update?.

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.3, Actually on 7.0.4

settings - gneral - reset - reset network settings.

if that fails contact your phone carrier cellular data is a carrier feature, not an iphone or apple feature.

I'm looking for a solution like plenty of other people here, all with the same "fallacy" that started after upgrading to 7.0.4., and, including myself, have gone through resets, restores, Apple involvement and even new phones, all without success. BTW, this post of yours also doesn't contribute anything useful; repeating "fallacy" over and over again doesn't make it true.

Hi,

I'm in the UK with carrier O2. I have had the same issue since IOS 7.0.4. I updated via a friend's WIFI rather than through my itunes, which I think may have been the problem.

Anyway I have reset my network settings many times, and yesterday, I did not reconnect to my home WIFI and the problem seemed to go away. I would drop 3G, but it would find it again very quickly which is the difference. However today it is back to E and not finding it again.

I have spoken to Apple and they say it is my carrier's firmware that may not be supported (why this has suddenly changed I don't know). My carrier of course say there is a fault with my handset which I don't believe. I am going to try to restore via my Itunes tonight and see if that helps. Although reading replies on here it doesn't seem to. I believe the next update is 6th December, so I'm hoping with a restore and then that update via my itunes will fix the problem. I am so disappointed, my phone was fantastic until this, now I just don't rate Apple at all.

I really think it is a conflict between WIFI and cellular data, and that stems from how the update was executed, either through WIFI, cellular or itunes. There's load of WIFI issues reported, and I think it is just an extension of that problem. Mine works fine on WIFI, but struggles once I've left the area, i wonder if it keeps trying to refind the WIFI therefore draining the battery as well....

Hello guys! I've got a similar problem here. I have an iPhone 4S, factory unlocked and I updated it to iOS 7.0.4 a week ago, it worked fine for two or three days, but suddently it stopped working. It shows "Searching..." all the time, but when I go into the carrier settings and turn off the atomatic search, it finds the carriers, but does not get signal.

Yes, I have already restored it.

Yes, I tried another Sim, and my SIM in another cellphone, so the SIM is ok.

Hi, I've found a solution tested it a got it sorted. I bought my5s which was delivered on Monday, backed it all up from my old 4 content then tried to update to ios7.0.4 (hardwire) which screwed everything up.

First I entered my wifi code the connected to back up from earlier phone. 7.0.4 it failed hard wire so I left it and everything was all fine until I tried again wirelessly later...

Off to work, no connection for days and no solution either! Grrrrrrr grrrrrr, grrrrr!!!!

Tried all the optioned mentioned here then elected to settings>> general >> reset >> 'reset network settings' which worked fine, on one condition!!!! DONT RE-ENTER ANY WIFI CODE -if you do you are back to square one!

Luckily I'm on an unlimited data contract, but lots of people are - so if you are I'd suggest keeping a list of wifi codes for your most common wifi links - and keeping it empty otherwise, so Apple I was about to ditch my iPhone for a Samsung, so was my wife and three kids, if you feel grateful let me know and I'll let you know what they'd appreciate (together) as a little Chrismas present, lol I can wish I suppose....

Anyway that's an hour of life I won't get back, but hopefully I will help lots of fellow Apple users (and the developers too),

Cheers all and merry Christmas when it come, or whatever your celebration might be, ;))

I having Verizon factory unlocked iPhone 5s bought in US and currently using in INDIA.Works fine before but after upgrading to ios 7.0.4 started getting no service.Tried everything Airplane Mode on/off,reset network setting ,restore factory settings.

Recently change my SIM from another carrier but still having the same issue signal comes sometimes but lost as soon as you try to make / receive a call. While both the SIMS working fine on my old iPhone 3G.

Please advice if anyone else is facing the same issue and know the fix.Currently using it as iPod only.

I have this same problem with my iphone 5s on sprint. My internet will not work (facebook, safari, vine, instagram, email, etc) even though my phone says I have 3 or 4 bars on 3G. The service will frequently switch between 3G and 1x alot too. I've been thinking that I a downgrade to 7.0.0 and then going straight to 7.0.4 will help solve the problem, but I can't figure out how to do that yet. In the meantime I'm going to try a new install from iTunes.

Also ##update#, ##clear#, and reset network settings did not help.

If anyone has a solution please let us know!!!

I'm having same problem i South Africa (South African issued phone) with IOS 7.0.4. I tried resolving the latest "no service" issue tonight by folllowing instructions in this link (from reports of similar bug with the IOS 5):

http://osxdaily.com/2012/10/10/fix-iphone-signal-loss-stuck-on-no-service/

Turning on/off airplane mode resolved it, trouble is if I dont see or realize I have "no service" issues again, I miss calls etc in meantime. So its not an ideal fix by any stretch. Surely Apple is aware and working on resolving this, meantime I may try resetting network settings, reconnecting/checking via itunes and contacting customer care, too.

Any other advice or means to correct this found, welcome. Sorry to see so many having same issues.

I was having the same problem--after I upgraded from ios 6 to 7.0.4, I couldn't use cellular data anymore (I couldn't access the web unless I had wifi, and I couldn't send/receive text messages) -- I could only use wifi. I have an AT&T iPhone 4 that is unlocked, and I use Red Pocket Mobile for my service. I contacted Red Pocket Mobile's support, and they said this is a problem with the 7.0.4 update, and their technicians can't figure out why or what to do about it. And at this point, their only solution if I want to use data is to jailbrak my phone.

First I tried Apple's suggestions of restoring the phone as a new phone--didn't fix it. I tried the sim swap multiple times. Didn't fix it. I decided to try the APN changer, and surprisingly it worked! When I had some issues before the update with not being able to send/receive text messages, I tried the APN changer and it didn't help, but the sim swap did. So I was suprised that it worked this time. It seems some things work for some people, and not others. Here's the URL--go to it while on your phone: http://www.unlockit.co.nz/

Hopefully it'll keep working!
