ios 7.0.4 Update battery issue again!

I just did the update and after I unplugged from charging overnight my battery drained over 50% in a 1/2 hour on standby!!!! Why does this garbage continue to happen? Anyone else having this issue. FYI, before update I had everything turned off to save battery life so no stranger to the ios7 battery issue but thought it was not going to happen with an update.

I fixed my iphone a couple of weeks ago and posted about it here.

I think the answer might be to completely wipe and reinstall from backup Twice.

There could be a persistence of memory/ settings just doing it once.

As we can't remove the battery we have to be sure that the phone has lost its rogue processes.

When I did it (iphone 4) I first backed up via iTunes and did a reinstall as a new phone.

I thought it would be OK to start again and put all the things back in but it was too much like hard work so I shut down and then did a wipe phone again. This time I opted for restore from Backup and let iTunes do it's thing.

When it had completed the phone was running perfectly again.

I'd inadvertently run it twice, that's the only part that's different to what others are doing.

Just keep wiping and reinstalling until it gets the message!

Ok. I'm on my second set up as new restore and I made sure my battery was fully charged then I did the hard reset. I then let it sit on the charger for a good half hour past that still at 100%.

I did not install any apps. I've been using mostly safari all day on wifi and I have 4-5 bars of LTE consistently. I've just been web browsing looking at FB and some twitter and sent some iMessages and maybe two 5-10 minute phone calls. When I web browsed I wasn't idling too much either. I would load a page read and scroll and move on to the next. So I guess I would consider it heavy usage. My brightness has been under 50% all day and probably around 25% on average over the whole time.

I'm on a week 44 (November) iPhone 5, 7.0.4

Here's my stats:

Battery :10% remaining

Usage: 7 hours, 5 minutes

Standby: 12 hours, 20 minutes

I think I'm finally back to almost what I used to get on wifi anyways. I'm afraid to install any apps though!!! Also afraid of what my usage will be when I leave my home! Last time I used LTE only I pulled 3 hours 12 minutes!! Also I should add my battery percentage has dropped normal all day on wifi. It's when I use the LTE that I see the giant weird drops of percentage but I haven't tried it yet to see. Still think it's a bug. Anyways try a reset as new and don't install any apps and turn off all the battery drainers and your iPhone should work like a charm! ;)

Where's my Nokia 5165? ;)

As we all know that Apple will delay the release of ios 7.1 till may be march 1914.

I really wish if Apple could release ios 7.0.5 by tomorrow as a christmas gift for all users to solve their problems about battery drain, slow system and bad wifi connection - users will be so happy and be so thankfull to Apple !!

Nothing is wrong with 7.0.4. I have had it since Day one on my 5S and I get 8 hours of use. Something is wrong with yours and others in particular. Millions of others have no issue with battery life.

1914 has already happened no? 😉

The battery life issue is gotta be configuration thing.

I have not applied a majority of the battery saving tips to my iPhone 5, and I get 18 hours without even really trying... so it may be worth it to erase and evaluate which apps one really needs to keep.

My iPhone 4S lasts for 10 hours with on wifi

My iPhone 5 lasts for 18 hours with or without wifi

(Sprint Network for both)

Update: After the poor customer service i received where the Apple employees blamed me for the battery drain saying i was using my phone to much, I wrote a complaint to Apple CEO Tim Cook and explained the situation. 2 days later i received a phone call from Apple apologizing for the poor customer service and said they have a brand new 5S waiting for me. I have since uploaded my backup onto my new phone and have had no problems. My standby life went from 5hrs on my old phone to 2 full days. Problem solved!

Goodwell, have you tried my tip yet?

Its how you use the phone is what causes the battery runtime to drop

The screen is the biggest user of power. Then the cellular radio.

Keep the screen off and the phone will run for 2 days or more!

Verizon/Sprint phones (non LTE) will consume battery power much faster when in an area of weaker signal,

6 hours is the max runtime I've seen when in an area with almost nil 3G coverage.
