IOS 7 too much white background bothersome?

AM I the only one who is having massive eyestrain when using my iphone?? Its as if the reverted to Windows 98 or black and white TV. The white background in the music, settings, photos, texting, notepad, calendar and the keyboard is AWFUL. I love the keyboard when you unlock phone then it goes to this bright white and gray. It is a good thing they put in the control panel since I am having constantly adjust the brightness. I really miss the cool silvers and blues in the old system. Was very gentle on the eyes and easier to read. Im finding myself using my ipod (which is not upgraded to ios 7) when at home more and more for this very reason. I feel like I walked on to the set of the old THX movie. blah!! Im blinded 😟

try this:

invert colours in general/accessibilty (note everything is negative and gorgeous!)

then go to accessibilty shortcut at bottom of the page and when there tick triple click home button to invert back ...so u can have standard too white...... glaring screen for say playing games!

and triple click anytime to move between the 2 modes cheers

I agree -- was finally forced to update to iOS7 and the new "everything on a white background" is just horrible on the eyes. Perhaps it helps when trying to use the phone in bright sunlight? If not, this is just awful -- especially in dark environments. Don't want the kids using them in the car when I'm driving at night -- bad reflection off the windows, etc.

Just got an iPhone with IOS 8 installed and I agree that the stark white used in the apple apps is unbearable. Too bright, too harsh, frigid and aesthetically unappealing. They even made the photo album white! Extremely irritating. Invert mode is not an adequate option unfortunately as it inverts everything including images. Would be so simple to offer a night version option for the app backgrounds only.

Now I have to look for substitutes for all Apple apps. Spotify looks good as an alternative to iTunes. Very soothing on the eye in comparison. That's the kind of look I want to see on my screen. I now got Spotify installed on my iPad and Macbook pro too.
