iOS 7.0.4 iPhone 5S - crashed after Touch ID finger print unlock

iPhone 5S crashes after fingerprint / Touch ID unlock.

Tried various restores and settings. Finally found that turning REDUCE MOTION [OFF] remedies it. Haven't had it crash in 7.0.4 with this applied.

Turned REDUCE MOTION [ON] and the phone crashes again, as before about 20% of the time in 7.0.4 and 7.0.3

So, until some Genius doesn't just shrug their shoulders but actually does something to make your £630 telephone work as intended, we're going to have live with those awful Motion effects. Yippee.

so low and behold, after I went ahead and turned Reduce Motion OFF and now using my touch id, it has not crashed ONCE! (I have ios 7.0.4) I've had it off for over a week. I have fallen back in love with my iphone 5s.....

Same problem here. Worked with Apple Care. Their answer was drive 60 miles to the Apple Store and have them replace the hardware. I find it hard to believe this is hardware. Am going to try the Reduce Motion setting to see if it helps. Thanks for the post.

Reduce motion off fixed the issue here as well. I'll live with the motion in lieu of crashing 5 to 10 times a day.

The 7.0.4 update includes this tidbit:

-Fix for random reboot problem with iPhone 5S.

I have had the same problems as the OP mentioned and used the same solution to fix the problem.

I am downloading the new update right now. I will report back to see if this update fixes the reboot problem!

I confirm that 7.1 ios update finally fixed the problem.
