Calendar notification stuck in 'Inbox - New'

Dear Apple Support Communities,

I wonder why my girlfriend gets more an more calender notifications, which stay stuck in her 'Inbox - New'.

Example:

I create a new event and add her as participant. She get's the "Accept, Deny, Maybe" notification, which dissappears after she made a choice, but the notification that I created this event stays stuck in her inbox.

P.S.: We share our calenders via iCloud. She can see my calenders and I can see her calenders. No edit-access. Both devices (iPhone 5s) have iOS 7.0.4 installed.

Does anyone of you maybe have a work-around or a fix-option for this issue?

I have the exact same issue with the same setup - the only difference is that my wife and I both have the iPhone 4S. Unfortunately I don't have a solution. Anyone else seeing this?

Great news! I thought they fixed it with iOS 7.1! I didn't tried it anymore since iOS 7.1!

Well now we have a solution for this! Thanks!

You think that this will also work with iCloud calendar?

It works the same way with iCloud. I contacted Apple now via Chat.

I'm having the exact same issue. kalinav's workaround is the only workaround that clears them.

I was hoping Apple would fix this with iOS 8. But it's still there (with 8.0.2 now)

iOS 8 didn't changed anything. The bug is still there.

Only work-around: Disable and enable the iCloud calendar.

It's not fixed two and one-half years later in iOS 9.3.5, either, but your suggestion helped me.

I tried this and it got rid of the 1 notification but soon after I turned the calendar back on the 1 reappeared.

Kalinav's solution is still relevant - toggline calendar off and on again in Exchange E-mail Account helped me unstick an Invitee Response with iPhone iOS 11.2
