Thanks! The cold reboot solved the problem 🙂. By the way, my carrier is Verizon. So it appears not to be just a ATT problem.

Interestingly, I had turned data on and off several times (which I don't usually do) in the days before this happened.

I started having the same prob when I upgraded to I OS. 7.4 but only intermittently..I found I could solve it by turning Cellular Data button OFF then coming out of voicemail back to main screen then going back to Cellular Data and turning ON again. It worked every time for me, although it would come back occasionally and infrequently with No particular pattern. Hope this helps. 😎?

Thanks for the recommendation! I have a new iPhone 6 with so many bugs...I'm not a happy camper. I had the same "visual voicemail is unavailable" problem and I followed your advice. I turned the cellular data option off and turned off the phone. It worked!

I Have fount a solution to this problem. As you do want and don't really need the icons you can go in th your settings > notifications > phone badge >then turn off badge app ivon and that's it it's gone.

This happens after you shut cellular data off.

1) Go to settings >> General >> Reset >> Reset Network Settings

2) The phone will reboot

3) Log back into your network

The visual voicemail issue will clear up.

If you're having this problem and your Cellular Data is ON (like with me), all I had to do was turn off Cellular Data and then turn it back on!

Turn Airplane mode On, and off. I fixes the problen. Did not help? Go to Setting-->General--> all the way down, tap on Reset--> Reset Network Settings.

It sure fixes it.

I had the same problem and just did a hard reboot by pushing the home button and power button simultaneously. Whenthe phone came back on all was well.

Hope I don't have to do this every time or reboot the phone just to get rid of the visual mail icon.

Go to Setting-->General--> all the way down, tap on Reset--> Reset Network Settings.

It sure fixes it.

I had to turn off the cellular data, do a hard reboot and then turn back on the cellular to get it to work...

Thanks this fixed mind too. My iPhone 5c started doing this when I set the password for voicemail. I have not updated the software yet.
