Charger won't fit in slot anymore

There might be crosion from getting wet, have dirt/lint in it, or can even be your charger.

I had this exact thing happen to me and finally I was able to fix it by using the pointy end of a plastic floss pick to dig out some pocket lint. The lint was very ground in there and stuck so it took about 10 minutes of prying and getting it out little by little, until I got a big piece out of there and then it connected just fine. Thank goodness.

Same experience as britav. Lint in the port. Very difficult to get out but was able to do it with all the techniques listed above. I always carry my iPhone in my pocket. I guess I'll have to buy a new case to protect the port.

how do I fix it

I had my charger spring back when i tried to plug it in. When I saw this thread, I had believed I had checked for lint and was positive there was none. Boy was I surprised my the amount of lint that had gotten tucked in there. I used a fine wire to pull it all out, charged just fine after that!

Yes this happened to me.

It was lint that got stuck inside.

I got a floss pick and slowy picked away and a big chunk of lint came out.

Now i can charge it. 😉

Thanks it worked for me. I just purchased a Verizon double charger, when I looked at the end of my case for my 5S it had melted and a piece of the case had lodged in the charging port of the phone. I am going back to my original charger that came with the phone.

It worked!! I had dust in my hole lol!!
