When I start up iMac, Chrome automatically opens. How do I make it stop?

I have Safari, Chrome and Firefox as browsers. They are all in my dock. Safari is my default browser.

After I've shut down the computer, when I start up again, Chrome is the only browser that opens automatically at start up. I don't want any of them to do that. I've looked through preferences and can't find anything. I've looked in my Library:StartUpItems folder, but there seems to be nothing there.

How do I make Chrome stop starting?

What I did was, even thought Google Chrome was not listed at "Login items" (System Preferences -> User & Groups -> "Login items" tab), is that I added "Google Chrome" or "Chrome", to the "Login items" list, logged off and then back in again; then I removed "Google Chrome" from the "Login items" list, logged back out and in again and got the results I desired. As easy as 1, 2, 3; hehe. 🙂

Yea this has been driving me crazy and if you look through Chromes help pages it is no where in there. This did work for me to and I am like duh why didn't I look there but in these situations I always look at the preferences in the particular app and then my system preferences. I didn't even think to right click the icon in the dock because I never use that contextual menu. So thanks whoever it was that figured this out. Finger up to Google for being sneaky! Oh and the same goes for Google music. I tried the trial thing and didn't like it so I have been trying to get rid of that to. It seems you have to get rid of everything before that ******* will go away.

Yea but it is nice to have so you can check if things look right in different browsers and since Chrome is becoming one of the most used I have to have it. I do agree with that sentiment and wish I didn't feel the need to have it. I tried using Chrome but just don't like it. The extensions are a pain and most are just Hijackers.
