I'm currently having the same issue. Literally, I tried many things to solve it but none did work. This started when I updated my iPhone, or my iTunes to latest version. Now my iTunes is able to recongnize my iphone when I open the itunes when my iphones is connected, however, iphoto can't see it. Also, my iphone doesn't show on finder as well. I tied restarting the phone and my mac as well but with no luck!

I'm running OSX 10.7.5

iOS 7.0.4

iTunes 11.1.3

iPhoto 9.4.3

Any thoughts?

Hi, I have a similar problem, however slightly different.

My Iphone will be recognised yb Itunes on my main user account on my IMAC, but not on Iphoto.

However, when I sign in on another user, Itunes and Iphoto both work.

So on my main user Iphoto does not recognise my iphone.

On user 2, Iphoto does recognise my iphone and imports my photos.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks,

C

Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder.

(On 10.7 or later: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)

(Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)

What's the plist file?

For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

Well Terence, not all of us are complete computer geeks and I'm actually glad I dont know a lot about computers as I dont like to be stuck behind my computer 24/7 chatting to my internet friends and suggesting ways of hacking my iphone.

Anyway, when I go to HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. as you suggest, nothing is there.

Then again, as you're taking the pi55 out of me using the word "dude" I don't want your assistance now anyway.

You sir, are a belmonte.

Hey Terence, I'll accept your help! Promise to refrain from using the word Dude too !

Anyway, I've tried

trashing the plist (as you mentioned) didn't seem to do anything

new cord

deleting iphoto and reinstalling

restarting my imac with the phone plugged in

restarting the phone- nothing works

Of note, I can not delete com.apple.iPhoto.LSSharedFileList.plist (says it's in use despite closing everything)

This is a new imac and I'm not sure my phone ever showed up in iphoto- BUT it does show up in Iphoto of my macbook pro.

Any Suggestions??
