iPhone 5s low bluetooth audio volume

Dear community members, I recently got a brand new iPhone 5s and after joining my car audio, I realised that bluetooth audio volume is way too low compared to my previous mobile which is an iPhone 4. Shocking! Do you guys any of you happen to have the same problem? Any ideas how to fix it? The volume is 2-3 times less loud than that of the iPhone 4 even if the same software is running on both of them! (latest version iOS 7.0.4.)

I have the exact same problem when playing music on my Forte. Searching further on google I found someone raised the volume with the left side buttons when doing a call. I'm gonna try that, it may work since it seems there's no other place to adjust bluetooth volume...

Alright, now the sounds louder, what I did was:

- Open the Music app and make sure the volume is at 100%

- Call the voice mail while connected through bluetooth and press the volume up button several times. A bluetooth volume indicator appears on the screen

- On Settings - Music:

- Turn EQ to Off

- Turn Volume Limit to Off

- Disable "Sound check" (I think this one made the big difference after all)

And that's it! Now the music plays a lot louder than before

Hope that helps!

I don't know if this will help, but I just got off with Apple Support and they gave me a few steps to try to resolve my problem.

My problem is that I have an iPhone 6 (I know this post is referencing an iPhone 5S, but this problem is following me since I had the iPhone 5S), and a Scala Rider G9X. Music is extremely low, but the other stuff, such as Tomtom and phone calls are ok. I can talk on the phone and ride my motorcycle with any problems. When I listen to music, the volume is so low that when I accelerate, the song is not heard at all anymore. I had the exact same Scala Rider headset paired with my iPhone 5 and I have never had the issue. When I bought the iPhone 5S, I noticed something was wrong, but I thought I forgot the volume down on my iPhone, but when I stopped, I realized that was NOT the issue.

So, on the chat with iPhone people, they asked me to:

- Turn off Bluetooth for 30 seconds and try again (didn't work)

- Erase the device and pair it again (didn't work)

- Erase all network settings. He said it also erases the Bluetooth profiles. (didn't work and it didn't erase my BT profiles)

- Hard reset on the phone, by holding the lock button and the home button until I see the Apple on the screen (tried, but didn't test this one yet)

- Restore the iPhone without restoring the backup, sync a couple songs, pair with the Scala Rider G9X and try again. (didn't try this one yet)

- See if there isn't any new firmware for Scala Rider G9X (it is updated to the last firmware, still no luck)

I am running out of options. The volume is all the way up on the iPhone, the headset is also at its maximum volume level (you know this by pressing the volume up a few times and then hearing a different beep from the actual volume up beep).

When it was paired to my iPhone 5, I had no issues. I could accelerate on a highway and even with the wind sound I could hear the song. Now I can't. I tried to see if this was a problem with my Scala Rider headset, got my friend's (same G9X), but no luck. I even tried with another friend's Scala Rider (G4), and it still has a low volume. I tried messing with the Sounds setting on the phone, but no luck. I had the Sound Check option off, on, Volume Limit was off, I tried pulling down just a little just to see if I could notice anything, but still no luck. But what makes all confusing is that, if I am using Tomtom, even with the wind I can hear Tomtom giving me directions. Tomtom is installed on my iPhone, it is NOT a separate GPS. I hear Siri just as loud, and when I speak on the phone using the headset, I hear people fine even at higher speeds. Why is it only the music that doesn't go higher?

It clearly has a problem, but I don't know where it is. I cleared my Scala Rider settings, used the unpaired it from Scala Rider and paired it again, nothing seems to work. I paired with my wife's phone (Samsung S5) and songs were loud, Tomtom was loud (her phone also has Tomtom installed), and all the features were loud. That makes me assume there is a problem with Bluetooth volume in my iPhone.

Please share your thoughts... Tell me if any of the steps I mentioned before worked for you.

Best regards and good luck to all.

Just popping in to say thanks for you guys figuring this one out. Was driving me nuts. What's crazy is that when the volume was really low and I got a text message, the text message inbox sound was big and loud and then when i faded out, the music I was listening to was then playing at full volume but the next song that played was back at the low volume again.

I was having my wife send me a text message every few minutes this afternoon during my workout to keep the volume up. Glad I found this fix. I imagine she would get tired of that really quick.
