I have had this problem for 2+ days now. I can login to iTunes website and manage my account, but can't access anything from my iPhone 5S, iPad or MacBook, that requires the iTunes passwd. It's a bit painful now.

It seems to take 2-3 days for companies to realize/admit they have a problem and to spread the word throughout the support system. FATAL::Unable to process your request. Please try again.

Now we wait.

I just got off the phone with someone at Apple support, and he stated that there was nothing wrong with my ID or password, but they were waiting on their engineers to fix the issue. He stated they were hoping to have it fixed within the next couple of hours. He did suggest that I try to sign in every half hour or so. I guess it is is just a waiting game now.

Ok this is a way around the FATAL::Unable to process request issue that worked for me.

I have a windows based OS.

Login into you ICloud account & ITunes account through a web browser not on your IPhone or through ITunes. Verify that you can login in using your normal Apple ID. (This is step is just to verify that the Apple ID is not disabled and that you are using the correct password after trying to reset it through the default ITunes steps)

These are the links to verify.

Once you have verified that everything is accurate.

Login to ITunes using your Alternate Apple ID

Either your example@me.com or example@cloud.com

The example@me.com worked for me.

I was forced to change my password this morning, as iTunes incorrectly told me that I was entering the wrong password. After changing my password I now get the "fatal" error everyone is talking about. Something similar happened about 2 months ago. Come on Apple, now is not the time to be looking incompetent with supposedly secure passwords and personal information. Do you have some of the healthcare.gov geniuses working for you now?

There are a slew of Apple Support Communities discussions about this issue, all created within that past couple of days. One would think Apple would review their communities a bit more often and thoroughly, and get to the bottom of issues that seem to affect so many users. Let's get with it, Apple. And let us know what you're doing to fix the problem. Today.
