I have exactly the same problem. I have "Sync Photo from iPhoto" checked in my sync option. Never had photo importing or syncing problem on my iPhone 5 before iPhoto Library updated to version 9.5.1. I think the cause is that iTunes 11.1.3 and iPhoto Library 9.5.1 don't go along with each other.
Apple needs to check this out!
Have tried all of the above, and only provides a short term solution (maybe works for about a week+/-)
The temp fix that works for me is to quit iTunes, use Disk utiltiy to repair permissions, then reopen iTunes.
Note: Disk repair log does'nt reveal any repairs performed wrt iPhoto, just some plist's for printers.
This was a critical piece of information. Thank you. It worked.
Likewise, this was exactly the additional info I needed. Thanks to both leefoo23 and napa-web-designer.
Thank you so much! This really helped me out A LOT!!!!!
Thanks for all of the suggestions, I have tried hem all and still no solution! Anyone else still have trouble?
"Rebuid Database" fixed this issue for me.
Thanks,

I'll share what worked for me when I had this exact problem today. Solution is from apple.stackexchange.com.
Deleting
and emptying the trash did the trick for me.~/Pictures/iPod Photo Cache
Detailed steps
- Quit itunes.
- Go to your home folder in the Finder
- Go to the pictures folder
- Move "iPod Photo Cache" to the trash.
- Empty the trash.
- Open itunes and run a sync
I hope this helps someone.
Actaully, have to take back my last post. Deleting the cached worked initially, but don't now. I've also retried repariing the iPhoto database and rebuilding it, to no avail.
Will probably call AppleCare + later today.
Thank you leefoo23 your tip worked for me!!!!
I tried all the above solution and none works for me.
-iTunes 11.2.1
-iPhoto 9.5.1, with iPhoto library on Synology NAS
-Mac OS 10.9.3
However, I imported my iPhone photos to iPhoto as usual, organised Albums, then manually drag individual Albums to desktop, under different folders. Then I choose "import from folders" option in iTunes and it works. Now at least I have photos from Mac to iPhone under different albums like before. Hope Apple can produce a fix to this problem soon.
leefoo23's solution (click "Include videos") worked for me as well. thanks!
Had the same problem. Prior to syncing, I had removed a video shot with my iPhone 5 from the phone, but not from the Mac's iPhoto. When I removed the video from iPhoto, the phone synced fine. I'll post again if the issue returns.
Same problem. I couldn't find the iPod Photo Cache file (because I had only read page one of this thread ;-) so I command-option-clicked iPhoto.
Turns out that just repairing permissions (option 1) solved the problem for me, and only took a few seconds. Might be worth trying the four options in the order they come up.
Anyway thanks all for the help.
Worked like a charm. Thanks!
